We dropped by for a slice of the legendary tortilla, great value but for me, lacking in flavour and badly in need of some sea salt, spice and onions....nice if you like it basic and bland....

I stayed in the Maimonides hotel, near the Cordoba orthodox cathedral = mosque = catholic cathedral and asked the girl at the reception, what would be the best place for a tapa and a drink within 5 minutes walk. She indicated me Bar Santos at the other side of the cathedral.
This was indeed an EXCELLENT advice. Location of the bar is simply fantastic, tapas racy and handsome, and genuine Jerez 1 euro per glass (or was it 1.20?). In Cordoba, you are not going to detract too much time from the city itself, and this is a GREAT place for a quick snack.
Everyone else in this line speaks of paper plates and plastic forks. This was NOT my experience. I was there in January, they had normal tableware and cutlery, and I was the only non-local inside, apart from two couples from Barcelona.

It’s very cramped, the staff is stone-faced, but the tortillas are great and cheap. They cut you a slice from a huge tortilla, and it's eaten cold on a small plate with a plastic fork, and they’re quite filling. There are no seats – you eat standing up (preferably outside where there’s much more room). It’s great if you want a very quick meal.

Situated as close to the Mezquita as you can get this is an excellent spot to take a tapas and a drink. Famous for the tortilla. It is an excellent choice. The bar is very small but people seemed to enjoy sitting on the roadside wall that surrounds the Catherdral.

It was the best tortilla I have ever had. Grab a beer and eat it out of a paper plate with a plastic fork right under the Mezquita, this is a must do for everyone visiting Cordoba. Very touristic indeed, but you won't regret it.
