In a bit of a hurry before picking up our luggage and heading to the bus station, we needed a bite of lunch to get us through the afternoon! Although it was 1 pm, I think we were the first of the lunch crowd--and crowded it became! We had salads with a beer and wine--all delicious and efficiently served! In addition to some lovely Spanish olives, our waiter brought us a little sweet wine with our check.

The only complaint I have was that the bread was yesterday's--everything else, including the decor (blue and white theme) was wonderful!

Recommended! While El Rincon de Carmen was closed I found La Taperia next to it and was very happy to have dinner there! The food was prepared quickly, the waiter was very gentil, took care of the guests. The food was delicious. My compliments!

After a long day of flight and train connections, we were tired and hungry. Our hotel had recommended a couple of restaurants nearby, but at 6:30pm they weren't open yet as late dining in Spain is the norm. We decided to look around for a place that was open and served more than tapas. Luckily we found La Taperia. It looked inviting, had a Spanish & English menu posted, and seemed to have a mix of locals and tourists, but was not crowded. Their staff was very friendly, explained the menu, and their service was excellent. Our salads, main dishes, desserts were wonderful, as was their house wine. Our overall impression of the restaurant was that it was cozy, friendly, and unpretentious. It is in the Old Jewish Quarter about 2 blocks from the Mezquita. If you go to Cordoba, try La Taperia. As my wife said, they turned a rough day into a delightful experience.

Very nice atmosphere with a friendly and helpful staff. Food was average ranging from a very nice (and large starter salad), to tapas that were just ok.

A cold soup was very good, but was followed by a rather dry tortilla patas. The ham croquettes were also just ok, more creamed potato than ham in the croquette and also very dry.

Prices are reasonable.

We came in with a crowd (15 - 3 faculty and 12 students) and the staff was amazing - relaxed, helpful, efficient. Got us seated at 3 different tables and got our orders quickly. Tapas were very good (croquetas, calamares, patatas bravas, eggplant... and more). Drinks great. I'm not sure what the other reviewers experienced, but we were super happy with the place - and several of us have travelled extensively in Spain. Clean, nice atmosphere, friendly patrons. Several of the students loved it so much they went back the next day (waiters remembered them and bought them a wine). The place IS very near the mosque - so yes, it's frequented by tourists. But hey, you're in the center of a tourist destination. And, when we were there, the rest of the people at the bar and the tables were locals.
