After staying in old hotels around Spain I was pleased to enter the sleek foyer of the Cordoba Marriott.

The room was stylish and clean, but I could have been anywhere, which is a pity when visiting a town steeped in heritage sites. I looked for a safe in the room but did not find one, which meant I had to carry all my documents with me. For Wi Fi I had to sit in the reception area as there was no free room access. This was not very convenient.

I expected the breakfast to be as generic as the hotel and was pleasantly surprised to find healthy offerings including plenty of fresh fruit.

The hotel is not very central, as it is at least 10 minutes to the main historic area and in a very busy area. But the reasonable price may make it worthwhile for those who don't want to splash out on closer and thus more expensive accommodation.

I would recommend this hotel to those who want a modern, clean hotel and don't mind a rather bland ambience. In fact I would probably choose it again.

Very modern new hotel right on the edge of the old city in Cordoba - easy walking distance to all of the old sites. Comfortable rooms with luxurious bathrooms, free minibar, but no free in-room Wi-Fi so you either go down to the lobby or pay €12 per day. Breakfast was OK but not worth €20 per person. We were there in early October with temperatures in the low 30's and they had already closed the pool for the winter!! The entire hotel exterior is clad in rusty steel panels with a multitude of holes of varying sizes - apologies to architects reading this but just not to our taste!!!!!

A hotel that is easy to get to in the car, has plenty parking at a reasonable rate, and is a short walk from the old city wall - and all at a decent price for a 5* Ciudad rated hotel. Like all the AC brand, the modern style may not suit some tastes, but the in room facilities represent great value.

We picked this hotel because it had good reviews, it was good value and we didn’t want to negotiate the streets of old Cordoba by car.

The good things:

• very modern decor
• great bathroom facilities: two facing showers next to a Jacuzzi bath, and two sinks
• lights turning on and off automatically in some areas
• free mini bar containing mainly non-alcoholic drinks (such as water, orange juice, tonic water, Coke, Fanta and the odd bear thrown in)
• indoor public parking underneath the hotel (around 20 euros a day)
• the cladding of the building is very smart as it lets a lot of light in, but prevents those on the outside being able to see in
• great location for visiting the old town
• very good value

The niggles:

• the Wi-Fi was free only in the lobby
• the beds are not very comfortable
• some noise from the roundabout (we had a room on the roundabout side)
• slightly impersonal feel
• the swimming pool on the roof closed on 30th September, so we were unable to use it
• overenthusiastic air-conditioning in the lobby/bar area catering I guess for business users who have to wear wool suits at 30°C

I have there with my girlfriend during our holidays and it was really awesome. The room was really big and comfy. It has got all the comfort and technologies one wants in a five star hotel. The breakfast is really of good value. The range of product is wide and of quality. The price was really low compared to the quality of our stay.

A big effort has gone into the styling of this hotel however, from a personal perspective I didn't find it comfortable and didn't feel it was particularly welcoming. The bedrooms were a bit stark with the hard floors and when you get out of the wet room shower cubicle, there was no mat to dry your feet on - so beware slipping & sliding across the floor! Whilst it's not a major issue, there was no iron / ironing board in the rooms, which I generally expect in a 5* hotel. When I called the desk to have one sent up, I was told there would be at least a 30 minute wait as there were only two available in the whole hotel. No facilities to make yourself a tea / coffee in the room - again, expected in a 5*. Not impressive.
Good location for the sites of Cordoba and not too far from the train station but wouldn't stay again - certainly not after the ignorance displayed by the receptionist on check out. Europe has a lot to learn from Asia hotel service standards!!

We had a fantastic stay at the AC Hotel Cordoba Palacio.
The location was great - very close to the main attractions in Cordoba.
The hotel interior was very cool, fitted with quirky decor. The rooms were large and the spa was a real treat. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Cordoba!
