A very modern hotel in an excellent location, across a boulevard from the old town of Cordoba. Lobby is spacious and includes a large restaurant and a rather large bar area, albeit with expensive food. Wifi is free in the lobby but costs a daily rate in the room (why?). Overall pricing for us was excellent for what we got, however.

Individual rooms are commodious and while they have modernistic oddities, some of them are actually fun, which is not always the case in hotels aiming for modernity. For example, the bath and shower room allows you to either take a bath or to stand next to the bath over a large drain area to shower. There are individual toilet stalls so that a partner and you can both use the bathroom area at the same time. To counteract the senseless charge for wifi in the room, this hotel in a very unusual move offers a small refrigerator stocked with free drinks! That was a new, and pleasant, one for me.

Downsides: the exterior of the building in its attempt to be modern has an extremely odd facade. On a personal note, when traveling I prefer my hotels to be more in character with the country than modern and this one is decidedly not. But that's just me.

Warnings: the hotel is NOT easy walking distance to the train station. It took us about 20 minutes of lugging our rolling bags, so perhaps one should take a cab, as we did when we returned to the station at the conclusion of our stay. Also, the VERY SIMILARLY NAMED Hotel AC Cordoba by Marriott is closer to the train station. Don't walk that way! This hotel, the PALACIO, is a bit farther onward, but closer to the old city.

This hotel is comfortable and in a great location Only two real complaints - at the price wifi should be included not an extra add on. Secondly the placing of the toilet paper is suitable only for contortionists!
We had no idea about the free mini bar - which was probably an omission of the front desk staff who we did not find particularly helpful. For instance one told us there were no laundries in Cordoba which is patently untrue as we found one within a few minutes wallk of the hotel.
Some instruction on how to use the TV would have been useful.

Three of us (my wife and I plus our adult daughter) stayed in a suite with a double queen bed in the bedroom and a very comfortable roll-in single bed in the living room area (which also had a a comfortable sofa, arm chair and desk). The location for both tourists & business is excellent. It's a 1 minute walk from the portal into the old section, and 5 minutes' walk to the Mesquita or the Alcazar. As other reviewers say, the design is eye catching and contemporary but odd. It's as though the room was designed by Bang & Olufsen - sleek but in some ways dysfunctional.

Thus (1) the raised shower floor leaks water onto the bathroom floor. (2) The glass wall in the big shower/bath that faces the bedroom has some wide horizontal black stripes, but you bathe in partial view of your roommate, whether lover, child or business colleague. The design lets in natural light, but a translucent shade would be better. (3) A motion sensor turns the bright bathroom light on when you walk in, which is not so good at 4:00 AM when it also lights up the bedroom. A low wattage night light would be more useful.

Despite the hi tech gleam everywhere you look, the WiFi in the room is weak and slow. Good WiFi is a basic 21st century requirement, almost as important as indoor plumbing. AC Hotels, you lose one star for poor in-room WiFi. (WiFi in the lobby was free and a bit faster.)

Like most hotels, ancillary services are expensive. The very nice breakfast is 20€. The hotel garage charges 18€ a day; there's a safe municipal garage 3 blocks up Paseo de la Victoria for 10€ a day. Laundry charges include 5.50€ to wash a T shirt, almost equal to the cost of replacement. But high charges for parking and laundry are normal at top hotels, and the person at the desk did direct me to the nearby Sol y Mar laundry at Maestro Priego Lopez 2, a 5 minute walk. However, service felt cool, almost frosty, perhaps because staff at the registration desk didn't speak English as well as reception staff usually do.

The hotel faces a busy intersection, but the soundproofing is excellent. You can hear people talking in the hallway, but in general the room was quiet. The air conditioning was effective and unobtrusive. Everything was clean. The minibar is stocked with free soft drinks. The public areas are very attractive and comfortable. There is good storage space in the room. There's no kettle for making tea or coffee, but apart from that the room is very well equipped. Except for the miserable WiFi and the instances where the design seems to have been more important than the function, the room works well and the design is fun when it doesn't get in the way.

This is a first class contempory hotel marred by the fact that it is a Marriott property. They want to charge you 12 Euros for in room wif, which, by contempory standards is a total rip off particularly for a brand news hotel. Otherwise a five star all around.

The overall design (sleek and modern) is in line with most high end AC. The room is spacious, the large bed very comfortable and the bathroom with 2 showers perfectly adequate.

The service at front desk was simply awful. We had sent several e-mails and faxes prior to our stay which all remained unanswered. We eventually called the hotel and ask for specific requirements which they promised to care about and told us that they would allocate us a specific room which we did not get at the end. Staff at check in and check out was problematic, unfriendly and unprofessional, definitely not what you would expect from a so called international hotel, meant to now be part of the Marriott group.

The hotel has a nice roof terrace but although it was warm and sunny, the swimming pool was empty, I mean it had no water- always frustrating since we expected to use the hotel’s facilities and were not told that the pool would be out of order.

Breakfast was average but service surprisingly efficient. Our rate at 98 Euros for B&B was very reasonable.

Not a bad hotel (although nothing close to 5 star as advertised) with perfect location but management should honesltly consider proper training for their front office staff or convince them to get a job at the local post office instead.

Our countryside drive to Cordoba from Seville was lovely and pastoral. There were rolling hills filled with olive, almond and orange trees. If you are driving a similar route, make time to visit the Castillo de Almodovar del Rio.

This hotel is new and "uber" modern. The only problem we had was trying to figure out where the front entry was, and where to park the car. They DO NOT have a car drive-through near the front entry to check-in and unload your suitcases. There are no appropriate signs directing visitors on how to get to the underground garage. We drove around the oval block three times before we spotted a P sign, leading to an extremely narrow one-way entry to the underground garage. We had to unload our suitcases in the garage, and then find an elebvator to get to the lobby. They do not have bellmen, but we were helped by a front desk clerk. This was the only problem we encounterd during this visit.( parking is NOT free)

The lobby is very sleek and modern, as is the lobby bar and the hotel restaurant. Our room was also extremely modern, as if it were in an art deco hotel in South Beach, Fla. The hallways are dark with purple spot lights shining on the floor. Huge windows and a large round sitting couch, are at the end of the hallways, providing a stream of sunlight and a nice view of the street life below. The restaurant serves a limited buffet breakfast, but we opted to just have coffee and save our calories for lunch and dinner. It would have been nice if the front desk had at least one person per shift that could speak English, I was surprised that they didn't understand us, and you'd think that because the Marriott is an American brand, they would make sure their English guests could converse with at least one staff member.

When we wandered around the hotel we saw a beautiful spa and gym upstairs, but we didn't use them. The Marriott was having a large group conference at the hotel, and many of them were using those facilities.

This location is perfect to wander around the narrow cobblestone streets in Old Town, and to visit La Mezquita.( Incredible!!!) There are alot of wonderful restaurants and sidewalk cafes within minutes of the Marriott. We also walked across several bridges and wandered around the cute community across the river. Be prepared for the inconvenience with check-in, then enjoy this sleek new hotel with a perfect location.

The location of this hotel is excellent should you wish to be in the centre, close to the Jewish Quarter. Secure parking is available in the car park situated below the hotel in a public car park. The hotel is situated on a major roundabout and one needs to pay close attention to the exit off the roundabout to the hotel. Look for a small 'no entry sign' (except for the hotel and parking) situated at 90% to the front of the hotel. We missed the actual car park and ended up leaving the vehicle outside the main entrance (very small area) and one of the front desk staff moved the vehicle for us. The cost of the parking was 36 Euros for 2 nights which I felt was reasonable. I paid cash at the hotel desk although I believe you can also pay at one of the meters in the car park itself.

The location of the hotel is such that traffic noise is quite apparent from about 7am in the morning.

Our room was large, business type hotel design with an interesting layout for the bathroom. On one side of the passage in the room is a large spa bathtub with two effective rainfall showers, separate and at opposite ends of the bathroom. There is a glass wall between the hall and the bathroom and therefore privacy should it be required is non-existent. On the other side of the passage is the toilet which does afford a little more privacy. Notwithstanding the bathroom design, the bath showers were by far the best we had enjoyed during our tour of southern Spain. Also there is a free minibar which was replenished during our short stay.

There was a computer in the hotel entrance for use by guests free of charge, however whilst we were there the computer was not working and was taken away. No replacement was forthcoming.

We chose to take breakfast each morning in the hotel. Although a little expensive at some 35 Euros per couple, the choice was extensive and very enjoyable. Be sure to also seek out the 'Eggs Menu' for lovely poached eggs and omelettes.

There is a roof terrace with swimming pool and provides a particularly good view of the City

The hotel is situated across the road from the Jewish Quarter and city walls.Plenty of establishments are ready available for food and drink. Cordoba is a lovely city to explore by merely wandering the streets and regularly taking a coffee or something stronger.

This is a very good hotel in a good location. The staff were generally efficient, albeit not the friendliest that we came across during our holiday.
