This small and spare hotel is wonderfully located, just steps from Goethe's house and museum, and a pleasant walk from Goethe's summer house and other attractions. Our nicely-sized, very clean but somewhat austere room overlooked the main square. The woman who greeted us was friendly and very helpful—but beyond her, there appeared to be minimal staff. There is no elevator—and absolutely no offer of help with our luggage up the three flights of stairs. The man who seemed to be either the manager or owner was at the edge of rude. When we stopped at the desk to ask a question, he first ignored us and then asked "Is there a problem?" Breakfast was served in a pleasant, garden-level room and was better than the average hotel offering. Service was a bit brusque. (Unfortunately, the breakfast lady chose to make a rude comment about Americans to another patron just after we arrived. I assume she thought we wouldn't understand. Sigh.) Parking was available in the back of the hotel for Euros 7.50 a day. Finding the entrance to the lot and getting in and out was a bit tricky. Fortunately, the nice greeting lady escorted us in our car to the lot. I recommend this hotel for the location and for its competitive pricing.
