“WOW!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

If you like baroque music and JS Bach in particular, you will love every minute of it. A concert in epoch instruments, historic narrative, and especially the media tour going from the basics to the depths of Bach's music. Plan to spend at least 4 hours here if you want the full experience. I would rate this as Eisenach's #1 attraction, better than the Wartburg.

“J.S. Bach's birthplace and museum”

Super museum with many opportunities to listen to music with high quality headphones. Live performance on period instruments once per hour. Very interesting!

“from the time of Bach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

I'm glad I had the opportunity to visit the Bachhaus in Eisenach,
I love classic music and wanted to hear some with original old instruments (there is a live demonstration with some explication regarding piano and its ancestors (pianoforte, pipe organ, clavicytherium, clavichord, harpsichord...).
Classical music fans and professionals will surely appreciate the visit.

“The quintessence of music museums!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

This is my fourth visit to the Bachhaus in the last 15 years. Each time I spend several hours and still find more to see – and hear. It is not just a house, not just instruments, not just the history. The museum is full of music; it instructs; it demonstrates; it entertains; it fascinates (as in dancing to a piece from the Art of the Fugue) and it leaves one in ecstasy.

“Johann Sebastian Bach House. Great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

Never knew Bach was born here. Went to see the Wartburg castle and stayed in the town below. What a little gem. Nice place to go, staff spoke English. Lovely exhibition including live music. Very close to central square, got little souvenir shop. Pleasant thing to do. Recommend.
