“Top notch museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

Together with the Leipzig Bach museum, this is the best Bach venue you can visit. Since a couple of years the main building has a newly built annex which complements the house itself. The exhibitions are well thought out and you get an insight in both the musical period of Bach and of the culture of the time. Not to be missed in Eisenach!

“Do not miss the Bachhaus if you like music”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2012

The Bachhaus is a wonderful experience. Especially now with the new combination exhibit about Luther's work and Bach and the connection between those two important men. So much history to learn, and so much music to hear. Also liked the "performance" on actual antique instruments by a local musician who explains about the instruments and plays quite a few of them for the visitors.

“Great museum”

We spent the better part of one day in the museum. It is a must if you are on the JS Bach trail.

“More than a museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

This was a glorious experience. Great exhibits of manuscripts and old musical instruments. A talk + performance on Clavichord, spinet, harpsichord and chamber organ. Suspended chairs with headphones where you could have your own private concert. An auditorium with 180° giant screen for listening to and looking at performances of the great man's music. Café with indoor & outdoor seating. Keep an eye out for the red-haired lady at reception; a delightful person, warm, friendly and helpful. Am already looking forward to our next visit to Eisenach!

Beautiful house. They play Bach for you live on instruments of the original time. Very interesting!
