“Mediocre italian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013 via mobile

Why so high scores?
This is a Italian restaurant serving pizza and pasta, nothing else. The price level is "medium" and so is the food. There must be better Italians in this town?
Me and my wife ordered two different pastas but it was obvious that they used the same sauce, no love or pride making this food. The service was a bit stressed and unfocused. I will not recommend this restaurant.

“Great food at affordable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

A short stroll from our hotel Atlantic brought us to the nice
and inconspicuous restaurant in an old house at street level.

The feeling is sort of Italian and I guess as close to a "real"
Italian restaurant as you will find in Lübeck.

The service is friendly, humorous and fast. The menu is fairly
large and you will surely find something to your liking.

The food came steaming hot in well served large portions (nice).
It was tasty and we all enjoyed the experience. I had Spaghetti
Algio Olio (even if it did not appear on the menu) so you can
to some extent also order special combinations you may prefer.

The main cause were large and tender steaks and we had the best
bottle of wine at the bargain price of 20 EUR. All in all we were
a party of four, enjoyed 2 bottles of wine, 3 courses of delicious
food and coffee for the total price of 200 EURO. That is simply
a great price for a great meal!

Visit the Salento and you will leave full stomach and a smile!

“Authentic. Charming. Great Taste.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

We walked in on a Saturday night, and were lucky to get a table at this small restaurant.
The pizza's looked great, and the looks of them made us go for that choice - eventhough the mains looked great as well.
We started out with soups and homebaked bread, followed by the pizzas.
The taste was absolutely great, service was cozy and the atmosphere was fantastic. Highly recommended for authenticity, taste and value.

“Italian by italians”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

Wherever I go I try to find an italian restaurant that is owned and operated by italians. This is one such place. I found TripAdvisor reviews included reviews made by other italians that endorsed the place as one of authenticity, so I proceeded with choosing Salento over some of the more popular spots like Schabbelhaus and Miera.

FOOD:

They have a menu in english, but do not speak english at all. (Luckily I know italian!)

Antipasto misto: the sampler was awesome! A little bit of everything and all of us was excellent. Might have been worth getting another one of those!

For entree, my colleague and I both went for pizzas, but the menu was very robust with a long selection of different pastas, lasagnas and stuffed pasta (tortellini, canneloni, etc.). I would consider stopping by again.

SERVICE:

Despite no english, the menu is good enough to order what you want. The staff was very friendly. They also accepted credit card with Chip and PIN.

Overall, the other italian reviewers did not lead me astray. Very excellent experience!
