Ibis Budget Flensburg City
Ranked #9 of 25 Hotels in Flensburg

We stayed for 2 nights, we had a very pleasent experience.
The hotel is budget and very basic.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are small but it has what you need for one og two nights.
The mattress is thin and hard and the only thing we could complain about.
The hotel it is quiet, centrally located.
Close to shopping area, harbour and a cinema next door.
The breakfast is good compared what you pay.
Parkinglot next door.
All in all, good value for money.

The hotel is located right near the center, just a few steps away from the main pedestrian street (Holm). The promenade and the port area are also near - within a few minutes of walking.
There is no special parking for guests, but there are many parking areas around, as it is near the bus terminal. There is parking for unloading near the hotel and there are some handicapped parking places too - right near the hotel.
The hotel is situated in an office building. Instead of keys, you get a code to enter your room.
The room (for 2) is a bit small and is very basic. Everything is modern and clean but very minimalistic. Some rooms have bunk beds (room 317), some have a double bed or 2 single beds (room 318). The TV is small and hangs on the wall. There's a small table area attached to the wall, a small chair. The sink is actually outside the bathroom - right near the beds. There's no place to hang towels.
Shower and toilet are separated. The shower entrance is near the sink. The toilet entrance is near the entrance to the room. The light in the toilet turns on according to movement sensors. So if you sit there a bit longer, the light turns off and you have to waive your hands to the sensor in order to get the light back on. The shower cap changes lights according to the temperature of the water, which is nice.
The pillows were too soft. There were no tissue papers. No liquid soap, no shampoo. The room lighting was good and strong.
Free Wi-Fi Intenet was good.
Breakfast costs 6 euros per person and is very basic.
There are no warm dishes except for hard boiled eggs. No ham or sausages. There are spreads, especially several pate's. There's Camembert cheese. Yogurt. There were just apples and no other fruits. There was a coffee machine serving only cafe creme or hot water.
I didn't like the breakfast sitting area at all. Either you sit at a large table for everyone in the middle of the room, or you take one of the high stools (like in a bar) around small high tables near the walls of the room.
All in all - you get what you pay for. If you're a budget traveler, then it's a fine hotel to stop for a night, see the city and then continue to Denmark or other places in Germany.

I have been before in Ibis Budget hotel Menton France. Now I was here and hotel is clean but room is very small and I didn't like transparent shower door I didn't felt very comfortable. I wonder why there was only one worker man at the reception I thought theres a lot of more workers as in Ibis Menton there were many workers. There was free wifi working well and a room price is cheap. Also I wonder why we couldn't leave our luggages when we were just going to eat something and come back soon. I have been in many hotels and B&B but this was only one where I couldn't leave luggage.

We were thrilled by the built-in multi-color light in the hand-held shower head. We have not seen anything like it anywhere, let alone at a budget hotel. There would be room for improvement considering the following details: 1) the otherwise excellent breakfast was marred by near undrinkable coffee; 2) the staff refused to store our luggage for a few hours after check-out during the opening hours of the reception; 3) the minuscule storage space in the room makes it unsuitable for stay longer than one night.

If you are looking for a place to sleep which just has to be clean and nice, and you don't need room service etc., - then this is the place for you.

Simple, modern and clean rooms with a great location close to city center, where a 'just what you need breakfast, is available if needed as well. Not the last time I have used this convenient hotel.
