“Not bad at all.....”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

We had a short trip from Denmark to Flensburg to celebrate a birthday. We decided this hotel would probably be the best option in a city with no upscale properties. Rooms were clean and basic, but nice and quiet. Mattresses were new but very soft. Bathroom had combined shower/tub, but the tub was good size. Limited TV channels. Convenient parking at Euro 7 per night (be sure to get discount voucher at front desk) in garage next door. Very close to main pedestrian shopping street. Would definitely go again. Avoid restaurant for both breakfast and other meals.

A very nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable and the restaurant very good. The hotel is situated in the citycenter and a you can have a nice view over the harbor.
The next time I go back to Flensburg I will stay here again.

I've stayed 20+ nights in the Arcadia Hotel Flensburg during the past 3 years. Of all the hotels in Flensburg, it is one of my favorites, but I must qualify that by saying that there are no 5 star hotels in Flensburg. All of the several rooms in which I have stayed are clean and have been equipped with comfortable beds and nice tub/shower. The breakfast buffet is not quite complete, which becomes more evident after the 3rd or 4th morning. The location is super for an evening stroll around the harbor. Elevators are available to take you to your floor. Parking is in an independent garage behind the hotel. Please ask at the hotel desk about parking so that you receive the hotel's rate.

Context: A middle aged couple travelling from Stockholm to France, with a small dog. Needed an overnight stop in Flensburg.
Easy parking in nearby parking house. Ask the reception for a voucher when you check out to get the parking discount. Hotel close to city center and harbor, with many restaurants. Small but comfortable and clean room and bathroom, nice beds. No air condition, small TV without foreign channels. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, but at a nearby bakery.

We booked this hotel on-line at 120Kph, sight unseen and were thoroughly pleased with the result.
This was the third day of road trip, after visiting 16 countries in 40 hours driving, so it was welcome.
Parking is in an attached multi-storey, at the back of the hotel and cost €7 per night.
The view from the room was excellent and was more than large enough for three men.
It is right on the marina and close to several bars and restaurants, so dining is no problem.
Slept so well, we slept through the alarm and so could not make lunch in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Go for a high floor at the front for a good view.

We booked thru booking.com and knew check-in was at 3pm. However, being a Sunday we thought we would try our luck at 2.30. People were being checked-in, but when it came to our turn a Mr Peter Hope belittled us properly. Asked if we couldn't read our reservation print off, and told us that the hotel had been very busy and if we wanted a clean room we shouldn't come back until after 3 when they would TRY to accommodate us. We were able to leave our luggage. On our return the same man told us it was a bad idea to book thru booking.com as the hotel had to pay them 15% and our rates would be much higher. He gave us a card with the hotel's email and told us next time to book with them directly. My husband had already tried that with no luck. He also had emailed to the hotel about parking which they declined to reply. The hotel room was lovely and spacious and well located, and the check- out was a dream. We parked in the adjoining car park for 8€ per 24 hours (preferential hotel rate) we picked the car up with 30 mins to spare and was asked for 9€ as she said we were over the allotted time, the printed ticket showed we weren't to a very off-hand 'sorry'.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the harbour are really nice, but a little noisy with traffic later on. Beds we...

Nice area, clean rooms, great breakfast. WiFi free but room not so business, small desk without near power adapters and TV was a small 14'' TFT old one. Parking is not free and you park to a nearby parking thats gives you special rates if you stay at Arcadia (around 40 euros per week).
