I have stayed here twice. Not but choice. The main problems with this hotel is that the manager refuses to turn the air-conditioning on. The first time I stayed was in May 2012. it was around 85 degrees outside and incredibly hot and stuffy in the lobby. The corridors upstairs were even worse. The second was in June it was cooler outside but still hot and stuffy inside.
The rooms have very small hard beds with even smaller duvets and a single pillow that disintegrates during the night.
I turned on the AC in the room and the fan just made noise. I asked the reception about it and they told me to open the window. The AC would not be turned on at that time of the year. My room was at least 80 degrees on both occasions.
There is the autobahn very close by and it is raised to be on the same level as the 2nd floor. There is also a train track with high speed trains every 20 mins or so all night. As I suffer from allergies so opening the window with fields of rapeseed and grass around was not an option.
Outside my window was the loading bay with trucks reversing during the night, diesel fumes and employees smoking and talking.
There is also no blackout curtains so in the summer, so sleeping past 5 am was impossible for me. Some of the rooms do have an electric pull down blind. Mine didn't work.
There is no soap. You must use the antibacterial dispenser in the shower. I don't like to use that on my face. No face cloths either. Also both times the towels I have had were very small and very old frayed and thin. They should have been replaced along time ago.
There is no coffee maker or iron in the room.
The location is in the middle of nowhere. So you must have a car. There is nothing close by. No shops or restaurants so you must eat in the hotel restaurant or drive somewhere else.
The wait staff were very unhelpful and rude. They all turned their backs and walked away in the evening after I had waited for them to open. They refused to serve me saying they were full. The place was empty with lots of staff standing around. They never did fill up.
The reception staff do not speak very good English. The night person tried to be helpful but had problems communicating.
The workout room was terrible. It is in the basement and only open between 5-10pm. Not exactly the time I wanted to workout. They were also conserving energy and had very few lights, no AC no water or towels. They had a basic treadmill and bicycle and elliptical but that was pretty much it.
I will try to avoid this hotel in the future. They way I see it is if I pay for a room I should be able to have it at the temperature I want no matter the time of the year. It would be very simple to improve this place and make it a great stop over. But right now I would suggest you avoid it.
