About two blocks out of the main circle of town, the Mendelssohn Haus is an easy walk from any part of the inner city. The museum is in the house, somewhat redecorated as of during the days of Felix. It' small but lovely. Furniture, Mendelssohn paintings, and many scores, articles of interest, and artifacts are worth seeing. I was given an English-written guide book, but much was self-explanitory. The museum alone is worth seeing, but my intention was to see a recital/concert given on Sunday mornings in the Musiksalon of the house. It was an 11 AM performance for €15 and worth every penny! Being in the actual room where many performances with Mendelssohn had taken place was quite a thrill. The recital that day featured a Soprano accompanied by piano. Absolutely perfect!
