My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago for a short break. The hotel is beautiful with large, comfortable rooms, and the bathroom was lovely too with a large powerful shower. Access to the spa area is free, and was almost deserted when we used it. Our rate did not include breakfast, and we thought the price was a little steep to include it, but there are plenty of places nearby to eat so it wasn't a problem. There is no free street partking nearby, but there is a valet parking service available, but to be honest it is better to park the car in the underground car park for the Motel 1 hotel, which is about 50 metres away, and less than half the price. It cost us EUR 20 for two days, so much better than the EUR 25 per day that the Steigenberger wanted to charge.
We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food, but the bar area is lovely. It is very cosy, with really nice lighting and a very relaxed ambiance. The drinks are not particularly cheap, but were excellent and there were nibbles and snacks provided free of charge. All in all, it was an excellent place to base ourselves for our short stay in Leipzig, close to the historic centre, and excellent value for money for such a nice hotel.More
