This restaurant has a great location on the Marktplatz, and could so easily become a tourist trap. It hasn't! This Saxon brasserie serves German classics elevated to fine dining.
The decor is elegant and the tables beautifully set providing a lovely atmosphere. The service is excellent : attentive but not obtrusive.
There is a 3 course menu for €39, or 5 course for €55. There is a good variety on the menu including lobster, pheasant, goose liver, fish as well as some vegetarian options.
We opted for the surprisingly light pork butterschnitzel (€19.90) followed by Apple and rhubarb crumble (€10.90) and a glass of fruity white muller-thurgau. A lovely, delicious meal. It may be a bit expensive, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend.
Open everyday from about 11am until 12 midnight. Sit outside if you can and 'people-watch'.
