Kempinski's Restaurant Intermezzo is more or less the Heart of the Taschenbergpalais in Dresden. It has style, it has grandeur and is haute cuisine and fine dining in a royal ambiance. Right from the beginning, one notices how professional the staff is dealing with guests. I opted for the Degustationsmenu, including matching wines. And, I've enjoyed every course, from the beginning to the end. It's been a pleasure to see how the interior of the restaurant and tables are decorated with style. Where else, do you find on your table 2 pots with herb plants, displayed with elegance? Details, however the 2 small glass tubes with the Kempinski salt and pepper are indeed very special. Every course was of high quality as the presentation on the plates. Successively I had Carpaccio of Calf with mousse of rocket and chanterelle, Scallop with curry cauliflower leek and melon sauce, Tokajer sorbet with ragout of acerola cherry, Gratinated square or lamb and crepinette of lamb with grilled bell pepper and zucchini and as dessert Variation or apricot with buttermilk-vanilla ice cream. The matching wines were Westhofener Chardonnay, Riesling Schloss Reinhartshausen, Frühburgunder Meyer-Näkel and very special was the "blind date" with the dessert: 2 different Riesling Spätlese. The price is Royal, but who cares after a superb evening of fine dining.
