Description: In the "Brauhaus am Waldschlösschen", anno 1836, the history of beer brewing is still alive. In Germany's oldest joint-stock brewery, which is still brewing, the brewery experience as well as the impressive beer tapping plant are delighting our guests. The brewery "Brauhaus am Waldschlösschen" is a traditional restaurant with a large beer garden and alternating live music for the whole family. Our diploma master brewer Holger Stark guarantees the highest quality. Brewed and served are Waldschlösschen Original Hell, Waldschlösschen Zwickelbier unfiltered, Waldschlösschen Dunkel und Waldschlösschen Hefeweizen Hell. During the year we are offering other seasonal beers and special beers for major events. We offer interesting and entertaining brewery tours with appointment daily. Our guests will learn the traditional art of brewing beer and will taste the freshly tapped Waldschlösschen beer directly from the historic brew kettle. In the brewery we are offering delicious dishes of home cooking, hearty cuisine and light Mediterranean meals. Popular is the "frische Pichelhaxe" out of the oven. Our guests love the Saxon dishes such as the "Dresdner Kartoffelsuppe" (potato soup) or the "Hausgemachte Kohlroulade" (stuffed cabbage roulade with minced meat). Every Sunday we got a MASSBIER DAY with Live-Music at Brauhaus and a Maß (1-litre stein) of home-brewed Waldschlösschen beer at a sensational price of only €5.10. Monthly events round off the Brauhaus calendar.

“Very good food, service was ok”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Our family (2 adults, 2 teens) visited this brauhaus on 26 December. They seemed put off that we had not reserved in advance. Place was not very full, but they put us in a back room away from music. Food was excellent. Service was slow. Would rather have been out front with the music, but all of those tables showed reserved, but only 50% full when we entered and not much fuller when we left. Not sure why we were not allowed to sit there.

“One of my favorites in Germany”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

This is my favorite in Dresden. If you are in Dresden and want good German food with great beer, a nice view of the town, and good value this is the place to go. I used to live in Germany and still do business there. This place was recommended to me by locals I know some years ago and have been back many times for business and also sightseeing. Not fancy cuisine just great food in generous portions Sometimes very busy and often has live music. Agree it is not a tourist trap. Service good and a clean place.Family friendly in a safe area. Near S Bahn stop.

“What an experience! Great food, great beer, great atmosphere!”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

This place was amazing! Finally great authentic German food paired with German beer brewed on site. This isn't a tourist trap by any means as it's far enough off the beaten path. In addition to the great food and brew there's a great ambiance about this place. If you're visiting Dresden take the short cab or streetcar to this amazing place and enjoy yourself - you won't regret it!

“Brauhaus am Waldschlöesschen”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Our host at a nearby B&B recommended this restaurant, beer garden, and brewery to us for dinner. I’ve been to Germany many times on business before I retired and several more times since to visit relatives. I’ll tell you right up front that this place is so good that we went there two out of the three nights we were in town. The Brauhaus am Waldschlöesschen sits just above the Elbe River and it is within easy view. If it is not too chilly; try to get a table by the railing on the porch. The beer garden below is nice but the porch is higher up and the view is marvelous. Reservations are accepted. In case it is too cool to sit outside, the inside has a great decor and is not a bad alternate. They have an excellent menu but you can’t go wrong with the pork knuckle, sauerkraut and dumplings. The schnitzel was also excellent. Add some good dunkel (dark beer) and you can’t go wrong. The beer selection, all brewed right there, should have something for everyone. Service is good and friendly and you are not rushed. It can make for a long relaxed dinner. High recommend this place.

“Big brewery and really nice pub”
Reviewed December 10, 2012

The brewery produce very nice beers and the pub in there is sooo big, loud and authentic. It is basically everything you can imagine under the word german pub. The food was mediocre, nothing special, but on the other hand the atmosphere with live music and good beer can balance that,
