“Fun place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2012

Tasty indian food at a restaurant that is more like a pub. Great ambiance! Good prices for big size dishes. Good beer selection.

“An Indian's choice for an Indian restaurant in Dresden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2011

The biggest plus for it is does not put you in an overly garish atmosphere that is typical of most "authentic" Indian restaurants in Dresden.

The food is nothing to shout about, but it is the simplest dishes which they get right which makes it a delight. My favorite thing to order is the dhal (Lentil soup) with some rice, and a papad, and then dig into whatever dishes my friends order. They get the lamb right, but the biryani is no great shakes.

Their brunch is pricey (for Dresden standards) but worth the money, and there is something for everyone which is unlike most other brunches in Dresden, go with an empty stomach though if you want to do justice.

The service is quite variable, but largely very friendly.

“Used to be a great sunday brunch joint - not any more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2011

I really dislike places which suddenly try to cash hard in their success. So when the brunch menu per person in a place like Scheunecaffee (a good but not very good indian-brunch joint) goes from 9Euros to 15Euros without coffee over the period of three years, something is going terribly wrong in the minds of the owners.

When additionally u start seeing signs of bad attitude and poor service, u know that this place which was a must meeting point for a Sunday brunch is dresden is on the fast track for closing.

“Best brunch in town!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2010

Indian, Pakistani food. Huge portions, so very good if you're hungry! Good variety of teas.
The brunch on weekends and public holidays is something else: you can find all the classics (continental breakfast, German, fruits..) and also Indian food. It got slightly expensive lately, but still worth it. Better make a reservation, otherwise you can find it completely packed!.
In spring and summer, do sit outside. It is beautiful.
