Vienna House QF Dresden
Ranked #8 of 118 Hotels in Dresden
Certificate of Excellence

The QF hotel in Dresden is in a perfect location as you can walk to all the major sights in this wonderful city. Our room was excellent as it was spacious with plenty of storage space and a well designed bathroom that had the bath and wash basin separate from both the toilet and walk-in shower. Breakfast was enjoyable when the young, friendly waiting staff generally coped well with the demands of a full hotel. Reception staff were also good speaking excellent English as well as being knowledgeable about local sights. Our only criticism is the décor as it lacks colour – the walls in our room were various shades of grey with no pictures or anything that would brighten the room. Otherwise this hotel is highly recommended.

This is relatively new hotel (2006) in one of the most central locations in Dresden's old town, directly in front of the Frauenkirche. If you are visiting city as a tourist, there just isn't a better location then this.
Hotel is elegantly modern. I was staying in a deluxe room with the view over the Neumarkt, The room was exceptionally large, and beautifully designed. The bathroom came with a separate bath and walk in shower. Really nice and huge.
I was really impressed by the property itself.
On the negative side though, the service is lacking. My room was poorly cleaned (bread crumbles remained on the desk), I've not received new shampoo or shower gel, although old were used, Breakfast was relatively disappointing, I've come some half an hour before closing, and large amount of plates was empty, and no new food was brought. Items like scrambled eggs or sausages have apparently been cooked early in the morning, and were way past their freshness.

Hotel is conveniently located next to Frauenkirche and the tranport museum. The staff were uniformly helpful. The beds are comfortable beds. We had a family suite which provided more than enough room. The bells from the church ring with regularity, which I personally found peaceful
Drawbacks: the internet system is not user friendly. You have to keep getting new passwords and usernames after you use up your allotted time. Furthermore, you will
]have to pay twice if you have a family suite because you need a code for each room.
Gaining entrance to our hotel during the Christmas season was difficult because the outside of the hotel could not be accessed from the street. One in our party had to hike to the hotel to get explicit instructions about where we should park our car. It would have been nice if the hotel had warned us about this problem

Most of Dresden’s historical sights, museums and galleries are within the old town, much of it now restored to its former glory. The rather strangely named QF Dresden Hotel could not be more central, and is the perfect base for exploring this lovely city. The sparse and understated foyer gives no indication of the excellence of its large rooms. On the 5th floor, my room faced a quiet road at the side of the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, there was sufficient storage space should one have several suitcases of clothing, the pristine bathroom boasted a rain shower and a full-length bath – perfect for relaxing after a long day sightseeing.

The splendid buffet breakfast selection was extensive and there are plenty of local restaurants nearby. All in all, an excellent hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed here in August and loved this hotel. Our room on the 5th floor was very spacious, facing the main square of the old city. Bathroom is huge with all amenities.
The only annoying thing is that free WiFi is not included, you have to purchase time slots and you need to log in and log out every time. This is very silly, they should just add 10 Euros to the rates and offer it for free.

Stayed 3 nights in late September and fully satisfied with our choice of this hotel. It has the very best possible location, right in the centre of the city and literally moments to all attractions and wide selection of restaurants. Despite the central location it was in fact very quiet- the only noise was the church bells! Very clean and comfortable with great breakfast. Staff efficient although a little 'Distant' Found to be really good value for money. Highly recommended

On our recent trip to Germany we stayed two nights at QF Quartier in Dresden. We were extremely pleased with the choice. You literally are right in the main square of the city with outdoor cafes and the Frauenkirche right outside the front door.

Our room was modern and spacious with a really nice extremely clean bathroom (fantastic showers). There was plenty of seating, a desk and ample outlets for charging. WIFI was free in the room and consistent. The bed was very comfortable. Our view was on the backside and nothing special but I'm sure the views on the front of the hotel are pretty nice.

The breakfast room is spacious and delightful. There is plenty of room in a well lighted modern motif. The spread is fantastic with the traditional range of German meats, breads and cheeses but also cereals and hot eggs and breakfast meats. Really nice staff in the room.

One additial interesting note is that the hotel elevator decends into what is a nice upscale shopping mall with restaurants and nice shops. There also is a large parking garage reached via the hotel elevator. Parking is 20 Euros per night but it is easy to get in and out. You don't want to drive too much in the old city (don't need to really because it is small and imminently walkable)

We loved this hotel and were sad to leave. We would definitely return if we return to Dresden.

Room Tip: Try for a higher floor room with a view of the square.
