“large 4-star hotel, close walk to historic city center”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

Well located on the riverbank, a close walk to the historic center of Dresden, the Maritim Hotel is right next door to a major conference center.
My wife and I stayed for three nights, on our first visit to Dresden.
The hotel looks like it may once have been a large mill building, that has been converted to a hotel.
The entrance leads to a soaring atrium, with two glassed-in elevators efficiently serving the rooms on seven floors.
The restaurant overlooks the river.
Our room was spacious, well designed and comfortable, equipped with attractive, matching art deco design furniture and furnishings, and was spotlessly maintained throughout our stay.
The bathroom was also spacious, with separated toilet, and bath/shower combination.
Everything functioned well.
Our only - and minor - complaint was that we were provided with only one small bar of soap during our stay, and there was no facial tissue ( kleenex ) provided in the room.
We thought the room price was very reasonable.
We would stay there again.

Room Tip: An upper floor room overlooking the river would be an ideal location.

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback about your stay in our Maritim Hotel Dresden. As we can read you’d really enjoyed your stay here in Dresden. You’re nearly right as you said these building were a mill building. In the historic the 100 year old building was used as a warehouse in the first years 1913/1914 for tobacco, wool or e.g. spices. We’ve noted your comment relating to the soap and told it our executive Housekeeper. It would be nice to welcome you again in our hotel.
With kind regard
Jörg Bacher, General Manager

I spent a couple of nights at the Maritim whilst attending a congress. The quality of the rooms is very good, decoration and cleanliness not to be criticised and the bed was most comfortable The hotel provided excellent food for a large number of guests and the staff were all extremely friendly.
Of course one of the highlights of the hotel is that it lies alongside the Elbe and is only a short distance from Dresden centre and the sights.
I can recommend this hotel to the discerning traveller.

First trip to Dresden. Organised tour via Riviera Travel . Excellent Hotel. Huge converted warehouse on the banks of the river. 10 min walk into town. Great lobby area . Glass lifts that took some getting used to . Would have liked stairs other than the fire escape . Made the busy times a little frustrating. ( minor niggle ) Excellent room . Very quiet. Amazing breakfast in a lovely room over looking the river. Probably the best breakfast selection we have seen. Would have liked some free wifi i have to say. 15mins thats all would have been nice . No problems as u could buy a day pass for 5euros. (minor niggle again) . Great stay and would recommend the hotel no problem. Very helpful staff, no problems with english speaking.

Room Tip: Floor one was excellent and quiet .

Maritim Hotel Dresden is a beautiful hotel, our room was spacious and clean, and had a fantastic view over the river Elbe. The breakfast was great, the staff is friendly and proffesional. The hotel is near to city center, only 10 minutes to walk. A place I want to come back to!

This hotel was booked as part of the Prague to Dresden bike ride package. It is situated within walking distance to the centre of Dresden via a park or the bike path along the Elbe River. The staff were absolutely fantastic. They assisted us in facilitating the transfer of our luggage back to Prague via bus transport whilst we took our tandem bike on the train. The hotel has an amazing foyer with a beautiful central atrium area and glass sided lift (key-card operated). Our room was situated on the sixth floor and was spacious in size with a well appointed bathroom. Continental breakfast was available in the breakfast room 'buffet style' - with a great assortment on offer. The views of the room looked over the Elbe River. Our tandem bicycle was kept in secure storage within a bike locker situated in the underground car-park - accessible via a key kept at reception. Well worth a stay!

There are better locations in Dresden, but this place is still close to the city. We staid with a large group and a one of the best "business buffet dinner ever". Also the breakfast perfect. 5 stars and more to the brigade in the kitchen. Check in fast, check out also, clean rooms (next time I stay with a room facing the river). Smoking bar, not used to it any more...

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river, and not close to the elevator ....

I really liked this hotel because it is walking distance to christmas market. it is about 10 mins walk or less.
you can take taxi to main train station for about 10 euro.
they were having sunday brunch at the hotel restaurant downstairs when i was there and it looked great. had little christmas market shop at the lobby with cute things at fair price. room was spacey and bathroom shower was very good with stable hot water. If you are going to the christmas market in Dresden, i highly recommend this hotel. They also had live pianist playing at the lobby and it was amazing.
have pool and wellness center . so you can really bring kids to play too.
