we found this gastehaus, it was just luck, the value for money 39 euros for a double is unbeatable, you actually get a small aprtment, with a lobby a spacious and clean bedroom and a whole kitchen, bathroom is wide, confortable. you have a feeling of a real place, not a cold hotel room. There's a free private parking lot nearby. Dresden itself is amazing though it rained for the two days we stayed...
breakfast is served in a common room, don't expect fuss, but you can easily pick a 3/4 euros one in any of the cafeterias int he city.
super value and i'd love to return, highly suggested.

Room Tip: ask for the roof, a little smaller but extremely nice.

We actually arrived early on the day of our check-in and we were greeted by the owner and taken into the kitchen/office area and checked in quickly and easily by the host who does speak fluent English. We had to wait a few minutes for them to finish cleaning the room, but when the host noticed that my husband had just had surgery on his foot and was on crutches, he immediately switched things around so that we could have a room on the first floor. The room was absolutely beautiful and spacious and the bed was super comfy! I will agree that the breakfast was a little light and wouldn't recommend paying for it, but instead to go out and eat or bring your own food. We had a full kitchen w/mini fridge, full bathroom and a bureau. It was almost like staying in our own apartment. I will definitely return to Gastehaus Loschwitz if I ever go back to Dresden! :)

Room Tip: Just let the owners know what you want and they will work with you.

We had already paid for this accommodation by swift transfer, otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. We had double checked with Gasthaus Loschwitz the week before our arrival that they had received payment and that dates were OK. My husband speaks fluent German and we had our email confirmation with us. Its a good job that we did as the owner told us we had arrived a day early and there was no room. My husband showed her the email and so (as she told us) with great inconvenience to her she would re-arrange her rooms and gave us a room on the top floor, Room 18. She did not say hallo to me or help us with our bags, and was quite rude and off-hand. This was a great shame as we had been looking forward to Dresden.

Easy to reach by car (hotel car park just nearby). Its a very short 2 minutes walk to village centre and die Blaue Wunder. Lots of busses appeared to be close, with a few trams close by too.

A selection of good restuarants within a short walk.

Rooms were fine, spotlessly clean, just like the rest of the house.

Brekfast quite light but maybe that was just me.

Host is a real star.

I would defo go back on my next time to Dresden. Hopefully in spring, when this area of Dresden will just look fabulous, with the river, gardens, houses and sunlight!
