The service at Schloss Eckberg is absolutely excellent. Their staff were extremely polite and accommodated us with aplomb when we had a delay which impacted our schedule. Also the grounds are a beautiful combination of well groomed and wild growth which balance elegantly and give the place a sense of timelessness as well as care and elegance. The views are equally stunning, and the rooms are well appointed, particularly for the accommodations a true castle can provide. We stayed in the castle itself and recommend it highly. Would absolutely return. Thank you Schloss Eckberg staff!

Stay in the castle if you're going to stay at this property - we did and were lucky enough to have a view of the city and overlooking the river. We had robes in our room, very spacious - even the flower arrangements in the castle were extraordinary.

We visited the restaurant terrace at night and shared wine & desserts while the waitstaff poured our glasses for us. It was such an indulgence, but still affordable!

We spent a few days in this wonderful Castle for Christmas 2017 celebrating our friend's jubilee birthday. I cannot express in words how beautiful this place is!!! Spacious spotlessly clean rooms with a vintage and yet luxurious style, impeccable service, highly professional staff... The breakfast buffet was the best we have ever attended to: varied and delicious, full of luxury delicacies and fresh juices. And those gardens!!! Wow, walking through the gardens felt like being in a fairy tale!! The view from our room was the most romantic thing ever, capturing the sunset from the balcony was surreal! The hotel had really fine and cultivated clientele. If you are after finesse and spoiling yourself in a bit of luxury, I wholeheartedly recommend staying in this hotel!! Although it's rated 4* I responsibly state it's much better than most of the 5* hotels I've been to around Europe. Totally worth it!!!

Room tip: The west side rooms have a great view

This hotel was recommended to us by friends who had stayed here. Yes it is a castle and it has been renovated wonderfully. The grounds are magnificent and the view from high above the Elbe towards Dresden is spectacular. Our room was very nice with a river view. King bed, large flat screen, well appointed, beautiful bathroom (which also had an outstanding view) and the shower/bath combinations were the best I have had in a long time. The tram system stop very close to the Hotel and it was a 20 minute ride into the Old Town. Make sure you book the castle and not the secondary building. The secondary building has rooms and is where the fitness center was located. The fitness center has good but not plentiful equipment. You can also walk down the bluff and walk or jog along the river.
