“beautiful gardens - no English commentary”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

we travelled to Pilnitz on the hop-on-off bus, and there wasn't any time at all for visitation of the Schloss itself. We had a whirlwind tour of the gardens, visiting the 250 year old Camelia and it's travelling greenhouse - but beware - the Line 2 that serves Pilnitz has no English audio program - and our guests were left out of the jokey and anecdote-filled tour that our bus driver gave. We had only 10 minutes left to fly down the river stairs to get the famous view...and as we were on the last bus of the day we couldn't NOT take it back to the city. Next time we will be using the Dresden Card which allows for free use of public transportation .

“inspite of entrance fee it´s still one of the nicest places”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

None of my visitors hesitated to enter the Pillnitz Park inspite of the entrance fee. This seems to be opposite the the Pillnitz people, doesn´t it? They enjoyed the Park and found it worthy the dime.

“Soothing stroll”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

If you get on the boats from Dresden you will have a soothing and relaxing trip. The castle is very pretty, and it has a beautiful garden (2 euros to walk through the garden). you can also see the exhibitions in the palace. It is actually a summer palace not a castle. Small, intimate and out of the main stream.

Good to cool down but not awesome or extraordinary.

“Picturesque palace in a lovely park”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Lovely gardens around the palace buildings, which sit on the riverbank. The Decorative Arts museum is installed here, and there are some very fine things, up to and including contemporary works. Very easy to reach on the tram from centre of town, and then a ferry across the Elbe.
