We stayed in Dresden just for one night for Christmas market trip with our friends. We have chosen Hilton Hotel according to comparsion price and quality and position next to Frauenkirche market. I reserved 3 rooms for our friends for nonrefunable price but unfortunately one of our friend wasnt able to come. Hotel offered us to spend money for the third unemployed room for parking and breakfast, many thanks!! We stayed in bussines floor, room is aprox 20 sqm with small bathroom, old furniture but very clean. Adequate breakfast is not included price, it costs 20 Euro per person. I can reccomend this hotel with bussines rooms for one or two night stay.

Room Tip: For longer stay dont use bussines rooms

We spent one night at the Dresden Hilton to visit the famous Dresden Christmas markets - we would have liked it to have been two nights, however the entire hotel was booked out the following evening!

The hotel's location is perfect - right next to the Frauenkirch and close to all major attractions (definitely pay a visit to the Historic Green Vault museum to see the amazing treasures of the Saxon kings). There are beautiful Christmas markets literally steps from the hotel, and it is just a short stroll to the Altmarkt. The only other luxury hotels that are as well placed are the Swissotel and to a slightly lesser extent, the Kempinski.

Our room was on the executive floor (we were in 498) and it was fine. Inward facing but with a view of the Frauenkirch. Very quiet despite the hotel being at full capacity. The one thing that let the room down was the bathroom - very tired and in need of refurbishing. On the small side, with combined bath/shower. Rather unattractive pink and grey wall tiles that likely dated from the late 80s. Sad old towels that had seen whiter and fluffier days, and only one large towel per person instead of the usual large and medium combo, which is unhelpful for washing hair.

The only other complaint is also bathroom related and concerns the loo paper - harsh, super thin one ply paper may be enviro friendly, but it is out of place it in a five star hotel. Perhaps give guests another option from which to choose?!

On the plus side, the executive lounge compensates for these issues - it is a great, relaxing space, and amongst the best we've visited. Big thumbs up!

Staff were competent and spoke decent English.

We didn't have the opportunity to use the spa and gym facilities however had the impression they were good by European standards.

Overall, we definitely recommend a stay at the Dresden Hilton, especially in December to enjoy the beautiful Christmas markets and general festive vibe!

50 meter from Frauenkirch city center. Very good place to stay, nice hotel with all comfort.
And Dresden is a wonderful city to visit. We stayed there 2 nights before we went to Potsdam.
Value for money.

A wonderful place. Great location. Employees are courteous, friendly and professional. This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel, and will certainly try and arrange another reservation, should my business bring me back to Dresden.

This is where you want to be if you come to Dresden. For two reasons.
Let me explain:
The Hilton Dresden is as in-the-middle-of-everything as it gets. Literally next door to the famous Frauenkirche, a short walk to the river Elbe, five minutes away from Semper opera and all the other attractions in the old town. You won't need a car, you won't need a taxi, you don't even need to worry about public restrooms as the hotel always seems to be near, whereever you are.
The Hotel as such is modern and efficient. Check-in was swift and friendly: We arrived way before the official check-in time but they moved us to another room so we could move in right away. We stayed on the executive floor, allowing as access to the lounge (which offfers a hearty breakfast and good cocktail hour). Bring you swim suits as the the pool area and in particular the all-season outdoor hot tub is worth visiting. Room are the international Hilton standard, could be just a little more spacious but I won't complain.
We had booked well in advance and paid some Euro 120 incl. breakfast. For what you get, this is a true bargain.
All in all, a great stay!
Taxi from the airport is roughly 25 Euros.

Room Tip: Executive floor is worth the premium.

This is an excellent hotel. But let me preface this with a few things: I am a Gold Hilton member, and this was a reward stay. However, I would have payed the price advertised because it was just that good.

Arrival was pretty painless. We drove directly to the hotel and was able to park in their underground parking. Very tight spaces, and some were reserved by the hotel (I guess you can call and reserve), but we arrived at about 3 pm, so no need to.

Check in was very smooth. The front desk receptionist was very warm and welcoming. We went up to our room, which was the king junior suite duplex. The room was very spacious, had a double sleeper couch on the first floor, and a king bed on the second floor. The second floor also had a couch (which we used for our 10 year old). There was also a raised area with a dining table, small mini-bar fridges on both floors, and complimentary fruit and bottled water (very nice touch). The view was of the tops of the sites around the Altstadt, so not a whole lot to see.

Staying on that floor (the 5th floor) allowed us to use the Executive lounge. This proved to be the best part of the hotel. Morning breakfast was included in the lounge, but if you went downstairs to the lobby, they charged 26 Euro. Very expensive for breakfast if you ask me. So the lounge breakfast had everything you would need, just on a smaller scale. They had a typical "European" spread with breads, cold cuts, yogurts, salads, but also eggs, bacon, and sausage. All were excellent.

During the afternoon hours, the lounge offers tea time, and this included cakes/tortes/stollen (a must have in Dresden). Also coffee (from a super-automatic machine), tea, and soft drinks are available as well. Happy hour is from 6-8:30 during the week and 6-8 on weekends. This has beer, wine, and liquor along with some small bar food (some hot, like cheese poppers). Once again, comes with the room if you are on the executive floor or business floor. Well worth the price.

The bed was, well, very stiff. Typical of a European bed, this was a touch rough on our backs, but the shower with excellent soaps / shampoo made up for it. Bathrobes and slippers were also provided with the room as well.

I have to give a big thank you to Johann and Mandy in the executive lounge, as they were always available and helped us in any way they could.

The pool area was nice sized, and had an indoor hot tub. The water could have been a bit hotter, but that was not a big deal. They also had an outdoor jacuzzi that could seat 8. Very nice facilities.

Check-out was simple, and painless. Parking was OK for 20 Euro/night, but after being in Norway, this place is cheap.

With everything said and done, this is one of the best hotels to stay at, in the world for the price range ($150 - $300 per night). The location is absolutely perfect. Right in the middle of the Altstadt, next to the Frauenkirch. Easy walks to everything this wonderful city has to offer. The customer service is top notch, and the manager should be commended for ensuring guests felt welcome there.

Room Tip: Get the duplex room with executive lounge access. You will not be disappointed.

Arrived in the evening, and checkin was really great. The receptionist (woman - I did not get her name) welcomed me as a HHonors goldmember and I was upgraded to Executive floor. Really nice treat and benefit from the gold membership!

She gave me a map of the city and gave me recommendations of what to see and experience. Dresden is full of churches, the most famous "Frauenkirche" is just a few meters away from the mainentrance.

Room was great, on the 4th floor (executive level). Fresh fruit and a "personal" letter in from the manager welcomed me in the room. Nightly turndown service, dont know if this is a benefit from the executive floor, but a nice treat when you arrive in your room after dinner!

Executive lounge was nice, located on the 2nd floor. Good range of food products both for breakfeast and for snacks in the evening.

As mentioned in other reviews, the location is perfect with lots of sights just outside the door. All in walking distance!

Will definately stay here again when returning to this beautiful city!

Room Tip: Executive floor!
