We bought online tickets for the wine tasting of 6 wines (but got a 7th extra) and it must be said: the wine is one of the tastiest we ever had. The tasting is not as given elsewhere in a seperate room but in their bodega annex restaurant itself. We started off in a rather quiet restaurant, as then not many diners were present, later on, however, the "stube" was jampacked so the vintner (who gives the explanation himself) had to kind of yell in order to drown out croud, which we found at first rather irritating, but as the evening went along we were cought by the warm atmosphere and felt ourselves included in the fun. Each time we noticed the famous grilled steak from the House passing hundredfold and, although we had already enjoyed a warm eal earlier elsewhere we decided to order steak and spare ribs: yummy yummy, really, so delicious! We have had a great evening and will surely visit again next year, for sure!

This wine restaurant is located some 3 km from the Trier City Center, in the town district called Olewig. In this village there are still some wine producers. The restaurant is run by a family (Oberbilig?). It is a very nice family restaurant which open the evenings (at least Friday and Saturday evenings). All the wines come from the estate. They have some very nice Mosel Riesling wines (which in my opinion are almost as good as the best Alsace Rieslings wines), and also couple of types of red wines produced locally. Their best red wine is made of Pinot Noir grapes (well, you like Mosel Pinot Noir or not, it is a question of taste...). Choice of dishes is rather classical but the meat dishes are nicely cooked in the middle of this "weinstube" style restaurant. I personally find the atmosphere very cosy and people working in the restaurant were kind (even if you do not speak German). The prices are rather attractive at least if you compared to prices in Luxembourg or in France. The nice think is also that you can actually buy wine bottles from the restaurant since the wine restaurant is in the same building that the wine estate.
