“Nice hotel, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

Great hotel, clean, reasonably priced, and quiet . Room and bathroom a little small, but everything fairly new. Great breakfast. We didn't hear any noise from the street on the 3rd floor facing the street. Staff was a big help. We rented our bikes at the train station across the street, and they kept them for us safely. There are great biking trails by the Mosel river. Done check out and they also kept our luggage until later.
Walking distance to lots of restaurants and attractions in town. Parking also across the street at a discounted price. Wi-Fi was ok.
Lots of traffic in this town, if you are driving, try to go on a weekend. We were lucky our second day was a holiday, so we drove to Luxembourg (30 min drive). You can also take the bus.
There's also the boat rides on the Mosel, you can bring your own food or eat in the boat, one or 2 hour cruises. I loved our stay in Trier and would recommend to all my friends.

We selected this hotel because of its location (directly across from the Train Central Train Station), as well as the reviews in TA. We also liked the concept of employing handicapped individuals - and them working hand in hand with all employees!

Our room was good sized - very clean - and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, but quite small. This is a non-smoking (thank goodness), but our room was adjacent to a roof-top patio where smokers gathered. We didn't realize this until after we were settled in and unpacked - too much trouble to move.

The smokers did gather outside and carried on conversations, but, fortunately, they did not stay too late into the evening.

Breakfast was very good - a great variety of typical European breakfast foods. The breakfast room was large and sunny and very well decorated - it made us feel welcome.

The hotel is quite old, but has been renovated and is modern with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms.

The only negative to the hotel is its location (that is a contradiction to the location near the train station). Outside, there were some seedy characters hanging around the station - the two "cafes" directly next door were rather dingy, and on Saturday evening the seedy characters were loud and shouting until quite late at night. We could hear them from our room on the back of the hotel.

These blemishes for the area of the hotel shouldn't detract from the positive characteristics. A clean and modern hotel!

Big rooms and bathrooms. Free wifi and strong airco. Breakfast was good, with local products. Staff was nice. Hotel has a few parking spaces in a nearby public parking lot, which they offer at a discount. Location was convenient, a 10 minute walk from the Porta Nigra.

This hotel is the best you can get if you will be using the trains and buses to move around the area. It is directly across the street from the train station and bus platform. Inside the station is a manned tourist information stand as well as a staffed train counter. Both of these proved very helpful for getting around. The hotel itself is wonderful too. They have an elevator all the way to the ground level, but you do need to go up a flight to register. The room we had was compact, but it also was on the top floor, so there is less space. Nonetheless, a convenient and quiet hotel with a great breakfast. Downtown Trier is a five to ten minute hike.

Room Tip: Top floor is quieter...less traffic. In the German Bible Handbook of Rick Steeves he speaks poorly...

Stayed only one night but it was a really lovely little place. Staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us and ensure we knew about the area and local things to do.

The included breakfast was great! Probably the best breakfast I've had (as I've been travelling around Europe the past 6 weeks, staying in budget accommodation mind you). It included great German breads, croissants, cheeses, cold meats, smoked salmon, eggs (scrambled & hard boiled), sausages, bacon, yogurt, cereals, lots of types of fruit, vegies such as tomato & cucumber, and a coffee/latte machine. The breakfast was simple but the quality of everything they served was excellent!

Our room was reasonably small although I was there with my parents and their room was larger and more spacious so we probably could've asked to swap to another but it didn't bother us.

Good location - right opposite the train station. Trier is small enough to walk everywhere anyway so we were about 5 minute walk from the Black Gate (Porta Nigra) which is the entrance to the main square.

Wifi was free and we had no problems getting online to use this.

A great hotel - I would recommend!

I've booked this place for my student group 3 summers in a row now, and I've not been disappointed once.
The rooms are clean and look modern, the staff friendly and even my chaotic group bookings always went smoothly.
The hotel partly employs handicapped staff (eg. hearing impaired), which I think is a very good way to go.

Since it's directly in front of the train and bus station, it's convenient for travellers with luggage, late/early trains, or anyone who's easily getting lost ;)
The walk into town will take you about 5-10 minutes; alternatively, hop almost any bus for a 2 min ride.

Excellent location - opposite the local bus station and main train station and a short walk into the centre. Very good breakfast with loads of choices. If you catch the Flibco bus from Franfurt Hahn airport to Nells Park inTrier, you can easily get local buses to the main train station/hotel. It has a lift which is handy after long days of sightseeing and shopping! Would definitely recommend this hotel for value for money and comfort.
