We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening and it was very busy. We had reserved a table, although there were still some tables available in this very large restaurant.
The restaurant is very attractive, and we chose to sit outside as it was a nice evening. The food was excellent. We only had a main course, as initially we had intended to have a main and a dessert, but the mains were so filling that we could only face coffee afterwards. We tried the fillet of beef and the Turbot, both of which were extremely good. The beef was good, although I have had better, but the combination of the beef with the mushrooms and a superb sauce was excellent. The vegetables were beautifully cooked and a good combination.
The only negative was the service. Whether they were overwhelmed by a lot of people arriving at the same time, I do not know, but it was slow. We waited quite some time just to order drinks, it was over an hour before we got our food, and the wine came a third of the way through eating the main course and only then because we had chased it. The waiter seemed very rushed until the end of our meal, when he seemed a little more relaxed.
A good place to eat in the middle of the delightful old town of Trier.
