My husband and I thoroughly enjoy our dinner here. We had a wonderful local wine, the bread was tasty, we got appetizers and main courses and each was better than the last. I had the beef stroganoff and it was the best thing I had during our whole 10 day German vacation. My husband got some kind of platter with different kinds of pork and loved it but couldn't finish it all because there was so much food! The atmosphere is sort of old-fashioned but with some dashes of modern style here and there. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good meal at a nice restaurant. The prices aren't low, but they are certainly reasonable for what you get. And the service was efficient and friendly.

Although our experience was a bit different as it was a wedding party private function, the food was great (they served our party of 23 from a small a la carte). Very nice decor and we would go back for a regular meal next time we are in Trier. The price was exceptional for everything we had. The desert was outstanding!

Went to this restaurant by the recommendation found on tripadvisor. The food tasted ok, but based on based on the its fancy website, reviews, abd most of all high prices was very mediocre at best. We would not go there again nor would we recommend it.

We got to this place with a reservation, after having received the recommendation to go from our hotel, Villa Hugel. What a treat!! We went for dinner on a Saturday night and returned for a lunch/early dinner on Sunday.

Our first experience was a good one, whereas the second was excellent. What made the difference was the speed of the staff. On Saturday, since it was pretty busy, the service was a bit slow, whereas on Sunday they were just starting to have customers, so everything went really fast.

The staff spoke English to us without any problem and were very respectful.

The menu is very rich! You really do not know what to choose, just because one could choose from such a huge variaty!

The food that we finally ordered was delicious! For wine, we went for sekt. Saturday it was too late for desert, so we just took coffee. The revenge was taken on Sunday, when after our main course we went also for desert. Mmmmm the chocolate pudding and the vanilla icecream were delicious!!

The price of each dinner was at around 55 euros for 2 persons, which I found more than reasonable, considering that they offer bread and cream with herbs on the house, and considering that some meals have salad as appetizer.

I have seen in previous reviews that a customer had problems with paying by credit card. Both times we paid by Mastercard without any problem.

So yes, I fully recommend this place for its location (center of Trier), tasty food, very good service at extremely reasonable prices!

Our hotel recommended teh Brasserie and we were glad they did. Once inside the atmosphere is superb. Old fashioned wood paneling everywhere, toilets accessed by a central staircase in the middle of the restaurant, a bar serving patrons not wanting to eat and lots of attentive staff serving in excess of 50 tables. An english menu was available, which was handy as the range of food is quite extensive. We also had a waitress who spoke excellent english and we chatted before, during and after the meal. The serves were large, so dessert was not ordered, which was the right decision when we saw the size of the desserts. The wine lost was extensive too and all in german, but we found a terrific Alsace Pinot Blanc which went with our food choices. Well worth visiting.
