“Reward yourself after forest work-out”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

This restaurant is close to the forest where people take walks and enjoy nature, You can have a nice meal or a snack .They have good selection of cakes and ice cream. This place is always packed with locals but can still easily find seats.

“Great Food - Service is OK”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

We eat here often on the weekends. The food is good, the drink menu is long, and the desserts are awesome. But the service, it is almost non-existant. I don't think it is a matter of the servers being unhelpful - they have always been nice and polite - I think they are just understaffed. It is nearly always busy when we go, and the servers only help who yell at them the loudest. I have been during the week and the service is much better when the crowds are smaller. The food is worth the visit though... try their mushroom crepe - to die for!

“Delightful Garden in the Green…”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

If you like nature and happen to get to the Gonsenheim district of Mainz -- an area that still has retained the charm of a small German town in the country -- , consider a walk in the woods around the Vierzehn Nothelfer Kapelle (Fourteen Holy Helpers chapel), on Kapellenstraße (a stop of streetcar No. 50 or 51 from downtown, going into the direction of Finthen). Once you spent some time wandering in this delightful wooded area, on your way back through Kapellenstraße, stop for a rest at this lovely café. Relax on the terrace (it has overhead heaters and blankets to cover your legs, during the cold season) and have a coffee or drink, or a light dinner. The selections on the menu are quite extensive for this type of café (we didn't try any, but just had refreshments), prices are reasonable. Sitting on the terrace, we enjoyed the look back to the woods. Service is attentive.
