Honestly, I liked the impressive building more from outside than its interior. Like every cathedral it is richly decorated, impressive and breath taking its own way and of course a must see in Mainz.

The stained glass windows are so beautiful. Such interesting history. Loved the peaceful atmosphere and offered up a prayer

Every archbishop since the late 10th century, is represent with at least his name and coat of arms on the stained lass windows or a drone carving many of which are extremely elaborate.
No fee. €0.30 to use WC. Muséum accessible through the cloisters.

Personal taste, I'm sure but I thought the stained glass was excellent.. Located right at the center of town so worthy a look and some photographs.

Very dark and plain inside. I thought it was going to be very different. It’s hard to imagine it as a place of worship. Very austere.
