“The Place to stay in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area”

The view form my room was the best, right on the river, looking right at the bridge. The hotel is very nice, the staff is helpful and nice. I was in a Deluxe Plus King room. The room size is a good size for Europe. It is a normal size room in the USA. Very nice bed, and was welcomed with a nice bottle of wine, and a fruit tray. The location is right to get downtown to the old city, and also a quick drive from the Frankfurt airport. Not many look at Mainz as a home base to tour around the Frankfurt area, The City of Wiesbaden is only 15 min drive away. The area is wonderful and the Hilton is a nice place to stay. Had no real issues with the room, nothing bad or really nice. The only down fall is that there is no Executive Lounge. The time for a remodeling should be coming soon, nothing bad, but you can tell that the time is coming soon.

When: 21 - 24 December 2006.

Location: Great location! Right on the river, maybe a block or two from shopping / eating / etc. A 20 minute drive to the Frankfurt Airport.

Check-in: There was a little confusion about the reservation details of 1 person or two, and whether breakfast was included, but that MAY have been the Hilton website's issue. I ended up paying another 18 euros or so a day. Next time I'll know to double check, and carry a print-out.

Room: Very nice and clean, plenty of space. No iron / ironing board, but they're available from the front desk. Odd pillows, but the bed was comfortable. Everything was very quiet.

Restaurants: Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. A bit pricey, but more variety and better quality than I've seen at most Hiltons. I wasn't there to see it, but there was a flyer advertising a free Christmas buffet for air crews. That's a pretty good indicator of the 'above and beyond' attitude of this hotel.

Parking: Standard European rates, plenty of spaces, easy in and out.

I would stay at the Hilton Mainz again, and probably will if I'm ever in the area.

Stayed at Hilton in Mainz for 5 Nights during our World Cup trip.Hotel is in a great location right on the Rhine, it costs about 7 euro's in a taxi from Mainz Station. We were given a River view room,Room had very comfy beds, good air conditioning, and nice bathroom.

Excellent Breakfast Buffet, i have stayed in lots of hotels and breakfast was well above average.Breakfast can also be taken on the outside terrace, adjacent to a great riverwalk.
Ensure you book breakfast inclusive, 18 euro's extra otherwise.

There is a small man made beach a few minutes walk away on the banks of the Rhine, nice way to spend an afternoon.

All the staff were very friendly, happy to take time to chat and have fun, they helped us plan a trip to Rudeshiem and generally made you feel a very welcome guest.

I will certainly return for a weekend break, Mainz is only 25 minutes train journey from Frankfurt Airport.

The Hilton Mainz is in my opinion is a well maintained older hotel.

There is no doubt the Hilton Mainz is a slightly dated hotel, but please do not let this detour you from this hotel as the interior has been well maintained and updated.

The rooms are clean, very comfortable and quite spacious.

You should be able to wrangle free breakfast when you arrive and it is well worthwhile as they serve a very impressive, well ranged breakfast.

But like any upmarket they charge the usuall 14 Euro per night parking, which is completely outragous in my opinion.

Hotel URL: [---]

My husband, 8-year-old son and I stayed here the nights of 23-25 November. We
had arrived on a flight early that morning from the States, and were able to
check in at 10 AM (we requested this ahead of time). This was a great way to
start our stay in Mainz. The hotel has its own underground parking garage (about
16 Euros/day).

The room was fairly large, and easily accomodated a roll-away bed for our son.
We had an amazing view of the Rhine River from our 7th floor window. It was a
very quiet room, with good soundproofing. The beds were comfortable.

The buffet breakfast was the best we had on our trip. The variety was quite
extensive.

Location - this hotel was right across the street from the edge of the Mainz
shopping district. It took us about 10 minutes of walking to get to the main
shopping streets.

This hotel is located on the banks of the Rhine in the friendly city of Mainz. It is located within walking distance of the main square, the cathedral and shopping. As Hilton Honors Diamond VIP members we were given a room with a view of the river, a welcoming bottle of sparkling wine, a selection of fresh fruits and a box of truffles. The staff, except for 2, were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Unlike many hotels, the mini bar refrigerator had an empty shelf for use during the stay. The buffet breakfast and dinner in the Weinstube was bountiful and very good. The room was large by European standards and spotless. I would recommend this hotel and I would be sure to request a river view room.

The Mainz Hilton is located on the banks of the Rhine River and a short walk from the Dom Platz. I have stayed here many, many times during during the past ten years. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. During season sightseeing boats that operate up an down the Rhine River dock behind the hotel. The location is excellent and the hotel is very nice. I highly recommend this property.
