While out with dear friends for the day tracing my ancestors, we called in to this glorious old Grade II listed pub. Lunch was delicious, as was the Portuguese wine, the fire was so warm and welcoming, Binka took excellent care of us... We could not have wished for more!

Amazing food, atmosphere, service and value for money! Our favourite place to eat in Devon, can't wait to return!

Dave & Binka have created a very good menu that delivers time and time again, from spiced black pudding to fantastic fish. Local beers and ciders and a good range of wines compliment the menu.

There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, but please don't feed Ruben, however pleadingly he looks at you.

Binka's Expresso Martini is a must if you enjoy a giggle!

We regularly go the The ring of bells, Binka (the land lady) runs the show, she is very friendly and welcoming, Dave does the cooking and its amazing, the menu changes regularly and is always excellent - you must try the black pudding starter (even if you dont like black pudding) you will not regret it.
Everyone is welcoming, the locals are friendly - its not clicky or exclusive - everyone is made to feel welcome. We have gone as a couple or group with or without kids, and its never a problem.
Good range of beers with guest ales frequently available.
You cant go wrong with a visit to the ring of bells!

I can't recommend the food here highly enough. It is very high quality and very reasonable for what you get. The fish and chip takeaway on a wednesday night is not to be missed as they do the best fish and chips i know. We just keep coming back and have never had a bad meal (or even just an okay meal!).
