We stayed here 12/07/2013. The hotel was excellent. The rooms were quite good. They were large with good beds and a large bathroom. The staff was very kind and helpful. There was plenty of on street parking.

Didn't realize that this was a hotel with grass rooves and other eco features.Booked a room with a separate living area and kitchenette which we really enjoyed even though the kitchen area was tiny and lacked any utenslis. Also didn't realize that we had booked a room with a water bed-our prevoius experience many years ago was not a happy one but this time it was ok
Hotel is large and busy so parking was not easy.Nice outside eating area and beer garden.Good value

Room Tip: superior rooms with kitchnette are worth the extra money

I stayed here the last week for a company meeting and everything was quite ok. The room and the bath were good and clean with free WLAN. The bed was very comfy and big. The evening dinner was well prepared and very tasty. The weather was not so good but the beer garden outside is very nice to sit. Breakfast was more like a three star hotel, so a little expensive as it is not included in the room fare. Specially later in the evening there is only few staff so sometimes it takes some time to plce your order for drinks. But the wellness area is very nice.

Nice hotel with very clean rooms. Area is a bit away from the city but everything is within walking distance. The room and bathroom are clean and the hotel overall is nice and clean. The staff at the reception is very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very decent with the usual varieties however I doubt it's worth $11/person.

I loved the Contel Hotel. They have taken an old boring featureless 1970's hotel and transformed it into a wonderful quirky and eccentric joy. The amazing décor stimulates the eye from the moment you arrive and walk through the Gaudi-esk garden into reception. Stuccoed walls maintain the Spanish feel and convention is charmingly subverted by the floral wallpaper on the ceilings above. With numerous interesting décor pieces, like the chair made from the rear of a VW Beetle in the lobby, it is a joy to explore.
Now overlay a layer of cleanliness and good service and you have a perfect place to stop off while travelling through Germany, I really recommend it!
