Fantastic playgrounds for all ages.
Nice park, flowers and dinos down and a good view over Kaiserslautern from the upper part of the park

We made our trip to the Gartenschau to look at the amazing pumpkin sculptures that they had up as a special. The only downside is that it was a very rainy day so the boys weren't able to experience the entire park as they wanted. Not only were the sculptures awesome to see but you can walk all along the timeline of the Dinosaurs, look out from an old brick tower and see some cultivated Gardens above the sky-line of Kaiserslautern.

There is a massive play area with fountains and pumps for the children along with a giant rocket slide that regretfully our sons did not go down as it was soaked from the rain. They do have a snack bar but we weren't willing to sit out in the rain and eat.

They also had a great lego building exhibit that was great fun for us to see.

The Gartenshau is possibly the coolest park we’ve ever been to, complete with life size replicas of dinosaurs and prehistoric beasts. A shallow creek weaves through picnic areas and playgrounds, meant for play. On warm days, it teems with kids in their swimsuits, splashing and and catching minnows. The playground equipment itself is creative, varied and encourages imaginative, risk-taking play. There’s a rock wall, big basket swings, giant slides, a kid-sized ropes course, a water play area with pumps and fountains, castle-like forts and a sandbox with dinosaur fossils you can uncover. It’s a big place with no shortage of open green space and gorgeous flowers, lounge chairs, a mini golf course, a skate park, a soccer pit, a couple cafes, a chapel made of willows, and an impressive LEGO exhibit. In the fall, the park is full of giant pumpkin sculptures. The cafe is affordable and has a varied menu. The restaurant on the upper level has excellent ice cream, too!

Beautiful park near the center of the city. Good for a family day, long walks and entertainment for children. 3-4 hours can be spent here just for walking.
