I two, non-consecutive, one-week stays for work at the ParkHotel Oberhausen. I found the staff to be excellent - very helpful, resourceful and welcoming. I stayed in room 308, which was attractively furnished, well laid out and comfortable. It was in great condition, seemingly recently renovated. The only issue I had was that my allergies were particularly active. The room was impeccably cleaned, so I can only attribute it to the season or perhaps the down filled blanket and pillows. The breakfast was nice and up to par with other European hotels but I felt this was one area that can use some attention in that the layout of the buffet could be better thought out. A couple of nice restaurants nearby added to my enjoyment of this property. I would be happy to return.

Room tip: Courtyard rooms are quiet.

Check-in was easy! The friendly staff had our keys ready on our arrival. All hotels should do this!

Our room was quite compact but adequate, however, it was warm and difficult to cool down. There was plenty of bright lighting, all dimmable to your preference--excellent! The bed was sinkingly soft, rather too much so. The bed had feather pillows, but housekeeping was swift to replace them with non-feather pillows--very helpful for allergy sufferers. Unfortunately, there was only a power outlet on one side of the bed; a simple power hub on each nightstand would allow two people to charge phones and devices at bedside. The room had a coffee maker and a minibar/mini-fridge.

The bathroom was also compact, but the shower (only) was large and had scarcely any mold--good job, housekeeping! The shower water pressure was good and the hot water stayed hot. The room had a hair dryer. The height-adjustable magnifying mirror was a great touch. Thank you, Parkhotel, for providing soft toilet paper for your guests! It's little things like this that make a huge difference.

The free WiFi was strong--all hotels should have this! Thank you for caring enough to offer reliable WiFi to your guests. The pub attached to the hotel had decent food. Loved the creamy corn soup topped with popcorn! The hotel had an open-air parking lot.

I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area.

we arrived on a tight schedule to go a concert at Amphitheater · Gelsenkirchen about 20 km, we asked the staff phone taxi to pick us at 19:30... we check in at 19:00 every was very smooth. staff where excellent. breakfast buffet was good. staff also made a great judgement call, when i asked for a taxi to the the station, they got there hotel shutle bus to drive to the train station. room was nice, with the added balcony.

Room tip: room 402 great if your smoker, is the last room on the corner top floor.

The rooms are modern and clean. It was perfect for a conference that we attended in Oberhausen. However the major downfall was the spotty Internet. It's a bit surprising to find such a poor internet connection in Germany. Both my friend in another room and myself had issues. My phone would connect but get kicked off consistently - sometimes multiple times within a minute. My iPad wouldn't even connect.

Travelling to North Germany, my family of 4 (myself, wife and 2 x 10 year old children) stopped off at the Parkhotel for 1 night. Located just a few minutes drive from shops and restaurants if you need anything it's well situated.

Parking was nice and secure and we had no worries leaving our car with the 4 bikes left on top.

Booking a junior suite we were greeted with a fuss free check in and were off to our room in no time.

The room was fresh and bright, lovely and clean, with a beautiful bathroom, complete with TV over the whirlpool bath, as well as rainfall shower cubicle.

Breakfast was plentiful, with choices for everyone, both hot and cold food including cereals.

WiFi was free of charge, and the room very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful, we all enjoyed our stay, shame it was just for a single night.
