“Another good stay”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Stayed here because we went to a big party Ruhr in Love.
The hotel had even a free shuttle taxi bus to the party for hotel guests.
Check in was very fast en friendly.
We asked for the same suite like last year, we got another one, this one was a bit smaller but still fine.
There was a botlle of water and some fruit, a safe, lounger, flat screen tv and cd played, nice bathroom with a flat screen tv, little balcony, beds were very good, pillows are very soft.
Breakfast in Germany is always very very good
Free parking space.

I enjoyed my near-three week stay at the Park Hotel in Oberhausen. The staff was friendly and attentive; the morning grub was pretty good (even had Tobasco Suace for my eggs); and the room I stayed in (208) was rather large, based on prior experience in Germany. The location was nice, even though traffic could be a pain. The pub in the lower level, opposite side of lobby as the street has good food and, of course, great beer. The staff at the hotel and the pub spoke good (enough) English for me to get almost anything that I needed. The bathroom was quite large and had a separate shower from the tub, plus two sinks. This room even had a couch. You are even encouraged to try the local version of bowling in the basement, however I would recommend a wrist brace and warm-ups first, as you have to palm the ball before whipping it down range.

Overall, it was a very good experience. i would recommend checking into this hotel.

Kevin

P.S. The big mall, Centro, is a short cab ride away. Biggest in Europe, to my understanding. I'd recommend bringing the wife there on a Sunday.

Room Tip: Room 208, or similar is nice.

On the outside the hotel isnt very nice, but once you get in it's so nice, most friendly check-in we ever had, the room was great, they gave us a upgrade, the beds were fine, cd player in the room, nice lounge and a super bathroom with a lcd tv, mini bar, no safe.
The hotel manual on the room was outstanding, you could even get some glasses in case you forgot your own.

Breakfast just any thing you could wish, even champagne, nice and friendly staff.

We stayed here for 2 night because we were visiting a festival, would return next year for sure.

My daughter and I went to the Justin Bieber concert at the Konig-Pilsner Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. She and I stayed at the Best Western which is exactly 10 minutes from the arena. The reception was very polite and helpful with check-in.

When I opened up the door to the room I didn’t want to leave! There was a separate sitting area, huge bedroom with sliding doors and a king size bed, a bathroom to die for with Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. Did I mention there was a television in the bathroom with heated floors!

The bed was very comfortable which I desperately needed after hearing tons of screaming girls in my ear and the Jacuzzi bath was absolutely fabulous.
Best Western offers a full breakfast buffet (included in our rate) from cappuccinos, croissants, and fruit to eggs, bacon, and sausage.

Outside of attending a concert; there is a huge shopping area in the arena complex. When I’m in that area again I will definitely be staying at the Best Western again.

We stayed in a family room for 1 night at the end of May, following a day's skiing in Bottrop. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, the hotel guide said they'd be delivered to the room on request, but upon asking in the morning, we were told to collect it ourselves from the breakfast room, and the previous night the hotel's small restaurant was full and we could not obtain a table. The hotel is not located in the middle of a thriving epicurean centre. And believe it or not, it is still legal to smoke in pub bars, hence the hotel bar was not suitable for little people. We should have asked for more pillows too.

The rooms are not air-conditioned.

Location wise, it is OK for access to the local tourist attractions.
