Very nice hotel in the outskirts and within walking distance of central Munster. Very pleasant and efficient reception. The restaurant is superb with an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel bar is very warm and cozy, and service by Eric and his cohorts is stellar. The rooms are standard utilitarian. Pillows are excessively soft and the very narrow individual comforter spreads may be a bit difficult to get used to. Have stayed here in two occasions and haven't been disappointed.

Large, nice hotel located in a rural setting (not possible to get too much impression however, when arriving after dark).
Pleasant and efficient reception service, and a very large and airy reception area.
Good, spacious parking in the underground garage as well.
The room: Large, lovely room with excelent double beds. Large and spacious bathroom, with a tub.
Good working area, but slow Wi-Fi: 0.7/0.5 Mbit. And not for free; EUR 12 for 24 hours.
Restaurant Chesa Rössli:
Large restaurant , divided into several departments. Efficient and quick service, but however not too smiling and friendly staff. But present when needed.
I selected from their seasonal menu for the autumn. A huge disappointment (again); German cuisine based on tradition is just incredibly unattractive!
Appetizer : Venison soup ; A brown goo that just tasted broth.
Main course: Hare fillet and roe deer medallions with red cabbage, Spätzle and autumn vegetables. Should basically be exciting dishes based on seasonal ingredients. Tender meat, but everything was drowned in a brown and uninteresting sauce. It was all completely without finesse and it tasted just python. The only positive; the food vas not piled into the salt as German food tends to be!
But haven’t German chefs ever been abroad so they can get some new inspiration and ideas? The restaurant claim to be “Fine Dining”, but it’s so far from the concept as it possibly can be!
A cappuccino ended the evening, actually the only thing good about the whole meal!

Dear JSH Bergen,

thank you very much for staying with us.
We appreciate the time you took to describe your impressions on tripadvisor.

Your feedback is of great value to us an enables us to continuously improve ourselves.

We apologize for your disappointment regarding the menu and that the cappuccino was the only good thing about the meal.
We regret that you were upset with the dinner and the missing kindness of the service.

It is very important to us that the service is of high quality and that even a simple smile let our guests feel welcome either in the Mövenpick Hotel Restaurant or the Chesa Rössli.

We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in our Mövenpick Hotel Münster to convince you of our products.

Sincerly,

Visited this hotel while meeting with local customers. The lake near by was great place to jog or walk. Hotel was nice, breakfast was excellent and a big spread. The location is well placed to access to restaurants and the local businesses.

Love the hotel for various reasons; First off all and most important:The staff is very friendly.
Also the location is very good, a bit outside of Muenster very near the Aasee, a bit out of town, but this depends on what you are looking for.
Rooms are small and dull, but convenient....for just one night it is ok.

Dining buffet is vary disappointing, shocking almost for the lack of quality and choice.

Daytime terrass however is a big plus for lunch or a good coffee with cakes....

We were on a short social visit to the charming city of Münster in North Rhine Westphalia over the weekend and met friends for brunch. The Mövenpick Hotel was highly recommended and it didnt disappoint for our first visit.

Apart from a very decent selection of quality hot and cold items on the buffet, what set this buffet apart for EUR 18 pp was that REAL coffees (unlimited made to order cappucinos, lattes etc) are included in the price! Coffee lovers will really appreciate this rather than the standard filtered coffee from the earn/thermos set ups.

The second bonus was that kids under 6 eat and drink free.

In keeping with the Swiss tradition of Mövenpick Hotels, tasty 'home made' roesti was dished up on the hot buffet which also a nice difference/addition to the standard bacon/sausage/eggs hotel offerings.

The final big plus here was the service .. personable, attentative and child friendly.

Parking is not a problem either on the hotel premises or across the road.

We didn't stay at the hotel or use any other facilities - it was just a brunch location for us.

Dear OzFFlyer,

thank you very much for having brunch with your friends at our Mövenpick Hotel Restaurant and for evaluating us on tripadvisor.

It was such a pleasure reading your kind and honest review.
It is good to hear that you and your family felt welcome and had a nice brunch due to the various selection of coffee specialities and food.
In addition it is very important to us that the kids like it here because of the child friendly and nice service, too.

We are already looking forward welcoming you and your family and friends again.
Maybe you stay longer and have the chance to stay with us for more than just one visit.

I was on conference there and I'm very pleased with the services. The rooms are spacious and clean ( I was in Deluxe room ). The services itself are very good and the staff is helpful. The hotel is near to the lake, but is not so close to the downtown area - we had to walk about 20 minutes. But you can always rent a bicycle from the hotel, which we done on the second day - is a great idea and I strongly recommend it to you too. The price for renting is ok, although there is no possibility to rent per hour but only per day.
Breakfast is rich and various, also the meals in the restaurant are very good. The bar is nice, but is really for smokers only, which can not like to someone. I'm not from those, so I spent some wonderful time with friends there.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are better, but Comfort rooms are also ok
