We just completed our vacation to Germany, visiting both family and friends. Our time was spent in northwestern Germany and a bit of Holland.
The selection of a restaurant was important to me, as it was our last meal with such close friends for at least a year. It overlooks a beautiful park with lots of bright flowers and families strolling thru the park’s gardens, which we strolled thru ourselves after our wonderful meal.
The meal itself provided the perfect venue to highlight our memories of our week visit.
Given our trip was ending; we wanted this to be a special meal with our friends/family as mentioned above. My nephew recommended a local restaurant called Kaiser Friedrich, so we made reservations for that evening, not very far from our friends home where we were staying that night in Monchengladbach.
Just like the town itself, Mönchengladbach, the food and entire meal experience exceeded all our expectations and in fact the food, service quality, friendliness became one of the trip’s highlights as the meal, followed by the walk in the park afterwards made it a perfect early evening dinner followed by a nice stroll to casually walk off our great meal among the flower gardens in the park. The experience was, as we American’s call it, “A Home Run”.
What made it so:
1st the service and table settings made us feel like we were in fact “special” and guests of the chef in any town’s best 5 star restaurant. My meal, from the white asparagus soup to the Dover Soul, were all 5-star. It was so good, I’m attaching a picture. Then as a chocoholic, the homemade cake with mousse made a perfect ending for me. My family had the same experiences with their appetizers and fish or meat dishes.
So now, the Kaiser Friedrich will become a part of our next German visit, which we hope will occur sooner than later.
