“Concert visit Borussia Park Monchengladbach”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Travelling by train to Monchengladbach to visit an event in the Borussia stadium located in Monchengladbach gives you the benefit of using the shuttle busses from the Central Station to the stadium and back.
The Palazzo Hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Central Station. We paid only € 59,00 for a business room incl breakfast. The room was big, bathroom clean, bed slept well and the breakfast more then enough.

Germany palazzo nov14-17
Messa Medica

Confirmation at the Palazzo means nothing !! My husband and I booked well in advanced (two months ahead) for the Medica trade fair and the payment was taken two days after booking hotel in September for November, on arrival after a long flight from Toronto, Canada to the hotel the lies started!!!!! First we were told our room was not available due to " heat damage" and then proceeded to tell us there were no more rooms available so therefore could not accommodate us, however, as we ( arguing ) with the front desk, a steady stream of guests arrived to check in, we asked a couple of the guests when they booked we were surprised to hear " last week "or "a couple of days ago "from ALL of them!!! Even though we had a hard copy of our reservation and a credit card statement showing paid in full and we had called from Canada 6 weeks prior to trip and to confirm reservation we were still denied a room at which point we called the police who arrived and were also disgusted and embarrassed to learn how Palazzo were treating guests/visitors
After a 2 1/2 hour event we still did not have rooms amongst others who booked well In advance for the trade fair, what we did find out was because we booked in advance and secured a reasonable rate we were simply bumped without any consideration or notice!!! We did ask guests checking in what their rate was booking a week in advance and they paid triple!!! So it was simply a matter of making money and taking advantage of the medica trade fair event!!!
This hotel put a number of couples and business travelers "out on the street" during our discussions. Not until the police had a confidential meeting in the office was when our credit card was refunded.
Bottom line we found ourselves on the street at 11pm with all hotels booked!!! We would not wish this experience on anyone ever!!!
We will never consider the Palazzo Hotel in Monchengladbach again!!!

Lovely hotel, the only one I have ever stayed in without anything to be irritated about. Plenty of parking space, easy and quick check in, great room with big windows that can be opened, complete with a fan, which was badly needed in these temperatures of 30+ degrees celcius and a truly awesome breakfast buffet, included !! This is just a gem !!

Room Tip: I was at the back with some noise of trains passing by. It did not bother me because I always sleep...

Stayed at the Palazzo for seven nights during Medica. As advertised it is a three block walk from the central train station and very quiet. The staff was welcoming, helpful and though my German is marginal had English speakers on staff. Wonderful breakfast included. The rooms and common areas were fresh modern and very clean. The only downside is that the free wi fi reached only the lobby and first floor rooms. I was on the fourth floor, but was welcome to spend as much time as needed in the dining room or lobby with laptop. Will definitely stay there again next year. No restaurant but plenty within walking distance.

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 nights and it was more than acceptable. A well run, clean hotel with a big room and a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and filter coffee machine which was well worth using. Its a small place though and the breakfast room is a little bit snug. Lovely breakfast buffet with hot and cold on offer. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is only a 7 or 8 minute stroll from the bus/train station but it was very quiet at night. A taxi to the Old Town square cost us 5 euro's but to walk it takes about 3/4 of an hour up a steepish hill through the town centre.

We only ever had a night out in the Old Town but ate at a very nice Chinese Buffet next to the train station one night and the main shopping street has all kinds of cafe's and restaurants dotted about and open during the day.

a modern business-class hotel with italian-style decor located at the heart of town. All rooms have a full-fledged kitchen, trouser-press and a dsl-internet connection.what i really liked most, was a very personalised service and their sunrise-breakfast-buffet.lat but not least: the rates were very moderate, we paid 50 euros for my single room (actually a business-double romm for single use, as the palazzo has solely double rooms) and my friends got up with 70 euros.all in all, an excellent place to stay near duesseldorf.
