Kaiserswerth is a suburb of Dusseldorf easily reached by the U79 tram to Duisburg.
We spent a couple of hours in this quaint village and wish we had time for more. It has a number of interesting shops which are a touch pricey but the restaurants are affordable. There is a ruined castle which we saw from the Rhine. It is terminus for the Weisse Flotte boat which runs back to Dusseldorf. The fare includes free drinks and there is a discount for Dusseldorf City cards which also give you unlimited use of U-bahns, trains and buses within the white zone.
