“The Meerbar is the duck's nuts!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

When you go to Düsseldorf and either stay in or just go to the Medienhafen, make sure you go to the Meerbar! It sits directly on the water in the harbor beside the Rhine River, and in the best area to eat and go out, IMHO. This place is cool to go eat, then stay there after 10pm for drinks and socialising at the bar. As the whole place is one big open restaurant and bar, you will see what I mean by the bar, whilst you eat. The service is great and the interior design is kind of hip. I really can recommend the food, as well as the bar. Although it is all open, they really are two different things to try out. They have great wine and cocktails. The music is this German house, techno non-sense that you hear all over Germany, but aside from that negative, it is relaxing, and inviting. If you are single, or just want to meet with friends, you'll love the Meerbar!

“Not for non sea food lovers”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

It is advertised as an Italian but it is all fish and shellfish and veal .So if you are looking for regular pasta dishes , forget it. I assume the food would have been nice for fishy lovers , but it was not for ne. Having said that it has a great bar with lively atmosphere .

“Nice place for a drink”

The customers are quite old, over 45...:(
The atmosphere is great!
It is also very nice for a coffee during the day, when the weather is good for sitting outside

“Great scenery, average food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2012 via mobile

Was here this week with a group of clients. The location on the harbor is beautiful - check out the metal clad Frank Gehry building just up the street while you are here. The inside of the restaurant contrasts brick walls with glittering mirror balls, intersting artwork and fresh Japanese cherry blossoms that are flown in weekly. The scene is trendy and fun with a young, attractive crowd. The food is good but not exceptional. Portions were on the small side. The entrees were very good, the desserts and side dishes were not. Come to enjoy the scene and the setting but do not expect to be knocked out by the food.
