“Very conveniently close to the airport”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

Liked the hotel for being so close to Duesseldorf airport, as I had a very early flight. It is virtually 10 mins down the road by car. (Rental Car drop off at the airport went very smooth and only took one minute at 5 in the morning.)
Rooms are modern and functional. Unfortunately there was a very unpleasant smell but after opening all the windows for an hour it went.
Didn`t have breakfast so can`t comment.
Staff extremely helpful both in giving directions and food recommendations. I managed to leave half of my clothes behind and they send them to me by mail and didn`t even charge me. Fantastic! Thank you so much.

As other viewers have stated, this hotel seems to be a little overpriced compared to other similar hotels in the area. Room was 130 euro; however, it was pleasant and spacious. Internet was supposed to be included. I noticed after I left that it had been added to the bill. My fault for not checking. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of choices, all fresh and appealing. The hotel is situated close to the airport but noise was never an issue. No food is available in the evenings, making it necessary to go out if you want anything other than peanuts. Overall nice but I would probably look elsewhere next time.

Let me start with the positive part. An extremely friendly staff, which seem to care about you. Cozy environment, nice neighborhood, even parking situation is OK (you might not find, though, a slot in hotel's dedicated area if fairly fully booked ).

But then comes the not-so-positive part...

Odor ... Odor... Odor... This hotel really *stinks*... No idea what's wrong with it, but the moment you step out the elevator, you'll feel the dust-sweat-no ventilation combination. Sorry, but I would live with that for a 2*. Ok, maybe for a 3*, but when it comes to a 4*, this is not acceptable anymore.

Beds...

This qualifies for probably third worse bed I've been sleeping in my (fairly extensive) traveler life... How could a bed whine so loud ?!? And then, the mattress... Gee... How can you position yourself as a 4* hotel with Ikea like mattress ?!

Price...

Ok, I was below the 100 EUR price tag set below, but, nevertheless, charging 5 EUR for a 0.3l beer, I find excessive... I never paid this price at a hotel bar before !

Noise...

If you decide for this hotel, please keep in mind it's close to the airport. Yes, Düsseldorf airport follows (as of autumn 2012) night flights ban (11:00 PM to 6:00 AM), but outside this you WILL hear the aircraft noise.

And you will, as well, hear your neighbor while showering, opening the door, laying on their (noisy) beds, coughing, talking over phone... Could walls be made of paper ? Looks like... !

All in one, for a transit hotel, IF you ever find it into the 60 EUR range, it's fair. Anything above, I wouldn't pay for...

If you want to go to Dusseldorf but dont want the hustle and bustle of the city then you have to stay here. Its 5/10 minute walk from the U79 tram/metro which runs on a very regular basis.
The staff who all speak English and actually said they appreciate the chance to better their knowledge of it are perhaps the most friendliest hotel staff I have ever met.
Breakfast was nice, the room was more than ample for my needs and even though I would (on this occasion) liked to have been more central to Dusseldorf city I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to all.

I agreed to pay Euros 269 per night as the property was listed as a 4 star property, the photos were very nice and the premium due to huge international trade show (MEDICA) was on. The regular price of this place is around Euros 100, which too is a bit stiff.
1) My first mistake - judged by photos and 2) My second mistake - went by star rating.

Though the property is located very close to Dusseldorf Airport and the Exhibition Centre, it is located far from the city centre. Though the property is located in a quiet locality (actually it is a residential area), one has to walk a bit to reach the local shops or tram station.

Pros: There is ample free parking space, the reception is decent, the dining area is comfortable & breakfast spread was decent and staff is super helpful. These were the saving grace for this hotel.

Cons: The rooms are cramped, door did not have latch from inside and twice my door was opened by house-keeping staff even when i was inside (thank God I was not sleeping or dressed inappropriately), the kitchen closes in the evening and dinner is not available!

I wouldn't rate this property as a 4 star property, however, it is can be termed as a good business hotel. I would pay max Euros 75 to 80 per night including breakfast for this property. It would help if the TV offered more than just two English News channels (BBC & CNN), especially one or two English entertainment and / or Movie channels were offered for the International traveler

Stayed 3 nighr in early June for business appointments in Dusseldorf. Set in a quiet residential area - Kaiserwerth.
Friendly and attentive staff (English speaking) - very helpful, excellent buffet breakfast.
Just around the corner from the train/tram into city centre.

Nearby selection of reasonably priced restaurants, and near the airport (6 mins drive).

Rhine river also a few minutes away from the hotel. Professionally run establishment and recomended.
Wi-Fi access via T-Mobile. We stayed in a non-trade show period so the hotel was quiet. It is alsways busy in trade shows in Dusseldorf according to the staff.

  • Liked — Helpful staff, clean rooms, value for money!
  • Disliked — Wi-Fi available but must be purchased via T-Mobile.
