Quickly got to the hotel from the airport, a taxi cost about 22 euros. It is easy to find the entrance.
Small lift, for a maximum of 2 persons, steep stairs. Interesting little room (I booked for one, and no breakfast). Not by accident the room has a slipper - to walk on the stone floor is cold. I would not recommend this hotel to guests with children. The location was good, there are a lot of restaurants and others hotels around. This hotel has remained quite normal experience, but if i be back in Dusseldorf, then probably choose another hotel.

Clean modern room, good furniture. The access for the apartments is done after you pay a visit to a front desk office 300 meters away, but if you are in a good shape you can also climb your baggage 1 floor on the stairs, to the elevator. Excellent breakfast, nice people for service.

Stayed here for 2 nights, in an apartment block a couple of minutes away from the hotel building itself and reception, plenty of space in room and modern ambience, kitchenette was fully equipped. The area is a bit rundown, but it is very close to the main station, as well as only a short walk into the city centre (never had to use public transport to get to and around the city centre). My only complaint would probably be the term "art hotel" - could not really see how this hotel was "artier" than a non art hotel... staff at reception was friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: I liked the apartment room in the seperate building.

I had a corner room in the apartment block a few minutes' walk away from the hotel building, where the reception is.

This apartment block is only 2 blocks from the main railway station (I could see it from my window) and has many amenities nearby, such as cafes and supermarkets, even if it is not in the most glamorous of districts. However, the premier shopping drag -- Königsallee, "Kö" -- is perhaps only 10 min stroll away.

There are two off-street car parks on either side, one adjacent and one 1 min away (that's the cheaper one!). A one-week ticket becomes economic at about 4 days' stay, especially if planning to go in and out.

Large, comfortable room with handy kitchenette. Extra crockery and implements may be requested from reception. The large dining table was very useful for my business meeting where I could show my presentation without disturbing anyone else or having to sit uncomfortably around a small table (such as in a cafe). Plenty of electricity sockets around the room. Possibly insufficient cupboard/storage space for a longer stay (say a month), especially if two or more people came.

Bathroom small but adequate and quite well-designed, with plenty of space for toiletries. Towels a bit small and thin but changed every day.

I did not try the breakfast as I had a room-only deal.

WiFi is a very reasonable EUR 10 per week incl a guide 3.5 GB data exchange quota. Apparently this is only a notional limit imposed to prevent movie streaming and other similar 'abuse' and more can be requested FOC if needed (but I did not require in the few days I was there).

I agree with the others' criticism of the lift. Nothing at ground level (it starts on the first floor) and is very small.

Would definitely consider again if back in Düsseldorf, especially if I needed to give presentations/hold meetings.

Had three nights here for Medica 2011. Really good choice. Room was massive! Really nice wetroom, power shower, nice bedding etc and a sitting room kitchen. You could have fit at least three regular hotel rooms into this room. Its a little way out of town and a brisk 15 / 20 min walk to the Ald Stadt. The upside is its really quiet at night and sleep is no problem. Super friendly guys on reception too.

Just one night on business but relieved to have chosen well.

Lovely well equipped rooms, well finished and subtly tasteful.

Breakfast lovely, staff friendly and a very good price. 5 minute walk to HBF also helped. Would stay again if I had to be in dusseldorf for any reason.

I don't need superflash and at the price this really hit the spot. Many hotels could learn lessOns in simple elegance from this one.

I very much recommend the hotels appartments and I love the little one under the roof top. Missing an air condition, unfortunately it gets very hot in summer. All the little appartments have a small kitchen with pots, plates, water cooker, an fridge. All very cleen and cosy. Unfortunately, you can't say the same for the environment. Near the main station, the neighbourhood is crowded with junkies and prostitution. Women traveling alone might like to take this in consideration. Second problem is: There is noone around. The apartments are in a house down the road from the acutal hotel. So whenever you need help, whenever there is something to do or to fix, you will have to do it on yourself because there is noone around and the hotel staff is not supposed to leave the hotel. But again, if it is no sizzeling hot outsinde and if things just work as they usually do, you will find a second home in Burns Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for the apartments
