“Excellent if you enjoy nice gardens/grounds/stately homes”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

My review solely concerns the grounds, we didn't take the guided tour. It is free to visit the grounds/gardens, and for this reason if you're on a budget while in Dusseldorf, you should definitely consider a visit here. There is a fee if you want to take the tour of the house. I'm not a gardening aficionado, nor do I often visit this type of attraction, but myself and our party comprising myself, my wife, our 1 year old , and my wife's parents, all enjoyed a stroll around the lovely gardens and taking in the views of the house itself and its ancillary buildings. There isn't on-site parking, you must find a pay spot in the streets around it

“Peaceful”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

We came here on our last day in Germany. We were flying back to the UK from Dusseldorf and we spent the last day in Dusseldorf with our friends who live in Cologne. This is a very pretty place and it is well worth a visit if you have some time. It was very peaceful and the flowers made it very beautiful. The pink palace was quite unique. We had a lovely walk and took some photos. We had a bit of rain but if visited on a lovely summers day with a picnic it would be time well spent.

“Stunning”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

We traveled out to the Schloss on our last day in Dusseldorf on Easter Monday and so glad we did.
We managed to get a tour of the Schloss with an extremely knowledgeable young female guide who conducted it half in German and half English . The tour started in the basement and proceeded through most of the upper floors where she told us about the fascinating history surrounding the building and the grounds .The gardens are pretty with plenty of pathways to go for a walk.
We had a cake and a coffee in the cafe which was excellent and well worth it and a must if you want to be served by a lovely lady who is the image of Julie Walters , wished i'd asked for a photo !!

“Stunning gardens, very relaxing and peaceful”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We spent an hour or so wandering round the mix of formal gardens and woodland. We went on a Monday so it was pretty quiet but my friend said it gets really busy at the weekends. It was a beautiful day when we went and I think it would be a really lovely place to take a picnic and relax in the sun.

We stopped at the cafe which was is a fairly standard tourist attraction place although the staff were exceptionally good especially our server who was very enthusiastically telling us about his upcoming trip to London and asking for tips on things to see. For a tourist cafe the prices are also pretty good and they have a nice shaded garden you can sit in.

“Nice small castle.”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

The peculiarity is the nice pinkreddish color and the surroundings. In fron there is a small lake which during the winter is froxen and behind the castle you have a beautyfull park nice for walks and jogging
