I stayed on th NH Dusseldorf for a business trip for 2 nights. The hotel is seconds walk away from the nearest UBahn station Oberbilker Mrkt. My room was spacious enough and clean. A bit of a mix of newer and dated furnishings. Room service for an evening meal on my 2nd night was efficient and nice. The negatives, the hotel offers free WiFi which based on my experience was probably due to the terrible signal via Swisscom, I imagine they used to charge for wifi in the past but stopped this as a result of the signal. Breakfast wasn't included and the hotel missed a trick here for me; my room rate was fair at £76 p.n but breakfast was extra at £20! Per day. Had they offered room including breakfast at say £85 I'd have been tempted. Much easier and cheaper to grab a coffee and a roll next to the U bahn or elsewhere.

Overall I'd stay again if needed though with lower expectations.

Close to main station and underground, the hotel is a classical biz hotel with all details of the category. Gym center, desk services, web access ok, nice breakfast.
Very convenient to take trains or move to the alstadt, even on foot.

Room Tip: High floors preferred

The location is not great (for sightseeing/ Xmas markets/ bars & restaurants), the rooms don't have much character and the lobby and bar are pretty humourless. If I were a business traveller, this would be fine and I would have everything I needed. However, I was a leisure traveller and so it was a little disappointing for the price. Sorry NH Dusseldorf - you really should market yourselves more for businessmen and women, not for holidaying couples.

Well maybe my expectations where just a bit too high I guess. But on arrival everything seemed great. The lobby is big and spacious and looks very nice. The staff was very helpful upon check in. But the first disappointment was the room. It is not very cozy and it truly feels like a business hotel. Don't expect to feel like coming home, just expect a bed. But not a queen-size like almost every single site will tell you! I checked 3 and they all have queen-size bed in room description, expedia, hotels.com and venere. Well don't believe them all standard rooms have double beds!! I reported this to the reception and they were very surprised to hear sites advertise with queen-size because ALL double rooms have double bed or two twins. I got offered free breakfast without any hesitation. So as long as third party sites don't change their room description I guess it's free breakfast for everyone. The staff handled it great. Do ask for a second duvet though because you will only get one and it's a twin size one. So it will get cold at night!! Bathroom is standard and could use a fresh paintjob as the ceiling looks rusted.
So reception staff is great except one girl who doesn't know her hotel. On day 2 she said there was no free wifi in the whole hotel only in the lobby. Strange as I used the free wifi in the room the the day before. Oh well her colleague knew what to do. Oh yeah she also doesn't know you can ask for a key to use the locker in the spa. She'll tell you there are no keys but there are trust me.
About the spa. The sauna was ok but looks worn out and so does the steam bath, I wouldn't recommend it unless you like feet fungus. There are clearly no rules on alcohol as everyone is drinking beer in there. So if you like aloud saune knock yourself out. If you want to relax stay in you double bed.
Breakfast is great, no it's excellent. Big variety. The bar is great and open late something a lot of hotels lack nowadays. So they will not kick you out when having a late night drink.
Overall this hotel is ok when you consider price versus comfort. But the bed issue is something that I think is a big problem. Queen-size is queen-size not double. And a duvet should be big enough to cover two people not just one. So double check in the bed when arriving and avoid the uninformed staffmember and you'll have a great stay.

When entering the hotel you are met by a really nice and open lobby.
The staff at the reception was kind and helpful and the check-in was completed in a smooth way. Only good impressions so far but when getting to the room the surprises starts...
The doors to the rooms looks like the door to a broom closet and when entering the room I was expecting the worst.
The room itself is however average and I guess you can say that it's alright. The bathroom is very small and looks like it has seen it's best days a while ago.
The sound insulation in the room wasn't good at all and you heard exactly what was said in the corridor.

There's unfortunately no wireless internet in the rooms so you need to be in the lobby to access the free wi-fi. There is a cable connection the room but it was for some reason extremely slow.

There seems to be a lack of restaurants in the area, at least I didn't find any when taking a walk in order to find some food, except for a couple of Pizza and Kebab places.

Breakfast was good with a lot to choose from. The price was however very high if your room rate didn't include breakfast, 20 EUR !!!

For a business seminar I stayed in the Düsseldorf NH hotel. It is a nice hotel, good location - just one U-Bahn stop to the main train station away or 4 stops to the touristy centre of Düsseldorf - the Altstadt (the old city, THE place to go out for food and drinks).
The hotel is neat and clean, the staff friendly. The hotel has a bar which closes at 1am, so be quick ;-).
Breakfast and lunch was buffet in the hotel, great range of good food. Rooms: ask for rooms facing to the back, away from the noisy street.
I would go back there , liked the hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the back of the hotel, away from the noisy main street.

I stayed for business. The room was clean, although air conditioning was noisy (you can, however, open the window to get real air in the room).

Breakfast service was .. slapdash. I waited, in vain, for 20 minutes for necessary coffee before giving up and going caffeineless to my appointment.

Internet connectivity is slow, and not included in the bill (which feels very old fashioned these days).

I paid 25 Euros to and from the airport.

I'd stay again.
