Ibis at Ludwig Erhard is a fine hotel and nearby main station n easy to locate. very quite area just opposite holiday inn express. loaclity is very quite and you'll see very few persons walking by but very safe area. receptionist was kind and check-in was quick. stayed there on feb 7,2013 for a single night. very nice bed and very clean bath room. flat tv was enjoyable and had a good night rest. it would have been nice if they had a kettle for making coffee/tea...

We expected the small bathrooms, lack of towels and poor WIFI from reviews we had read, but rude and unhelpful staff we did not!
Ibis confirmed the 24/7 bar and food availability the week before we went - this was not available due to building work - when asked what we could do - receptionist recommended Holiday Inn over the road!
Breakfast was a challenge with few tables and with dusty workmen wandering about - although both the workmen and staff liked helping themselves to the buffet as they passed back and forward.
One female receptionist was helpful - although none had name tags until the last day
Breakfast at 10 euros per person is expensive when considering there are many places in the railway station which is 2 minutes away.
For information go to the tourist information outside Dusseldorf HPF station - they have cheap travel tickets and discounts - they will help you plan your visit.
Other than the above Dusseldorf it a great city if you are there on Rose Monday for the Carnival - and everyone helpful - and with free WIFI- except IBIS CITY hotel

Room Tip: Stay the Ibis at the railway station instead - or somewhere else

I stayed here recently as my flight landed in Dusseldorf at 10pm and I wanted somewhere central but close to the main station. The drive from the airport took no more than 15 minutes and tehre is plenty of parking around the hotel (although only until 9am next morning, the hotel garage is an additional 9.50 per day)

As I arrived at almost 11pm check-in was very fast, the reception area was very typical of the brand.

My room was also fairly typical IBIS, small flat screen tv and fairly minimal decor. Looked nice and clean and fairly modern and the heating worked well. The bathroom was also clean and compact (quite long and thin, so maybe not for you if you're on the portly side!) A nice touch in the bathroom was a blast heater that runs for 12 minutes and takes the chill off first thing in the morning.

There is no free wi-fi in the rooms of the hotel, although these is free wi-fi access in the reception.( I always take a star off my rating for anywhere that expects you to apy for wi-fi)

The hotel itself is located close to the main station, but on the quieter side of town, so no problems with late night drunks keeping you awake. A brief walk of a few minutes will take you to the station, with no more than 15 minutes until you're in the old town.

I'd have no problem staying here again, good value and did what I needed it to.

It is a typical ibis, always meeting your expectation. It is quite close to the main railway station. The famous Japanese street is a 10-minute walk away. Location is great.
Typical ibis room though the bathroom is quite small, if compared to other ibis I have stayed.
Could improve the noise isolation and facility in the bathroom.

This Hotel was just right for us, we wanted easy access to the Christmas Markt and parking, job done!

The hotel itself was easy enough to find, but to get to the parking you have to go behind the hotel, then park underneath, cost is €9 per night, limited spaces so check first!

Rooms are adequate, but as others have mentioned, the bathrooms are small and the toilet very tight if you are a larger person.

Every where is clean and tidy, lifts to all floors.

Restaurant leaves a little to be desired, breakfast definitely not worth €10 per person, plenty of options a short walk away in the train station, including Starbucks and McDonalds!

This hotel was everything we needed, can't say fairer than that!
