I had a 24-hour lay-over and decided to stay here due to its walking distance to the train station (~15 min) and other touristy locations. From the Dusseldorf airport you can take a train to the main train station in the city of Dusseldorf. There is an airport train stop in the airport (think it was in terminal C) and another one close to the airport that requires taking the free sky train to first. Be warned that the train ticket selling terminal is only in German, not intuitive, and will not accept American credit cards that don't have the special European chip or Euros over the value of 10. It is not easy to get change for bigger bills in the train station so try and do that in the airport first. I got a little lost trying to get from the main train station to the hotel. It would be helpful if the hotel would post walking directions from the train station on their website. The staff at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The room was adequately sized and quite clean. I appreciated the wood floors instead of carpet. Free wi-fi was also a nice touch. The hotel was perfectly located to explore the Koningsallee shopping area, Old Town (Alstadt), and Media Harbor (Mediahaven). It was a long walk (~30 min +) to the Media Harbor, but well worth it to see all the cool modern architecture.
