This hotel is not at all as described by booking agents such as hotels.com, alpharooms, octopus (who we unfortunately booked through) etc. They all describe it as a 4* hotel but the maximum I would give it is 2.5*. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable so if you just want somewhere cheap in centre of town then this hotel would be fine. If however you want something a bit more upmarket with all the facilities advertised then book elsewhere. The swimming pool, sauna and fitness centre have all been closed for over 6 months. Apparently all the agents were informed of this but most have failed to update their records. The bar is also closed and there are no minibars, slippers, free water or newspapers in the rooms either. The wi-fi did work ok but not in our room - we had to sit in corridor or reception area.
Breakfast was a cold buffet and whilst it was adequate there really wasn't much choice. My only other observation would be the location; it is centrally located within easy walk of Railway Station and shops, bars etc. It is also next to a Gay Sex club with Live Shows - not my scene!!

Room Tip: Best to ask for an inside room though as there is no air-conditioning and there is a lot of noise fr...

It was our first experience booking a hotel through Easytobook in Germany. Actually first trip to Germany at all, and Dusseldorf was the first city. Everything from location, price and cleanliness was great at this hotel, so far it's the best hotel we stayed in Germany.

There was no hot water in the room for one night, and they gave us another room next day.

The hotel has many plus points with excellent rooms, friendly, helpful staff and a brilliant location close to the train station and the the old town. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay apart from the hotel not having Air Conditioning. We visited in August and the room was very uncomfortable because of the heat and trying to sleep was a nightmare. The tilt and turn windows had to be opened all the way but the hotel is located on a busy road with a heavy flow of traffic. The noise of the traffic made trying to sleep a nightmare.

Another negative of the hotel is that a pool is advertised on all the hotel sites and on the hotel website, however is no longer operational, which was disappointing.

The room rates were excellent with my stay for three nights being approximately £95.

I would recommend this hotel but not for a stay in summer.

Be very careful if you book at this Hotel. I don't know whether they are having financial difficulties or are just being poorly operated. Draw your own conclusions from our experience.
1) We were allocated one pillow per person with virtually no filling. When we requested extras on Day 1 we were told that 'housekeeping' had gone home. They had no access to them and we should ask again the next day. On the morning of Day 2 we were promised that extras would be taken to our room. We asked again in the afternoon and were told they would be chased. In the evening when wesked again, we were told that they had none spare. On Day 3 I demanded to see the manager who eventually produced some after telling me they she wasn't sure whether any were available as they only had 10 spare for the whole 100 room hotel!!
2) In our room there was just a space in the cupboard where the fridge should be. Similarly, the space in the bathroom where the tissue-box should be was empty. This remained the case throughout our week long stay.
3) The Swimming Pool was unavailable 'for technical reasons'.
4) At breakfast, very basic items were frequently missing from the buffet. For example, I like toast with my breakfast. On one day the basket was empty and I was told that they had run out. On another day when it was empty and I asked for some, the waiter re-stocked the buffet with 3 slices. On another day when it was empty, frozen slices were provided. Usually on European Buffets you find things like croissants etc., not here. Basic rolls were enough and on one occasion only 3 rolls existed with over an hour of breakfast remaining. Can they not afford to re-stock?
5) Half-way through our stay we returned from our day out to see people taking the jewellery display cabinet from the foyer away.
Take care if you stay here. We won't risk it again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are noisy. Rooms at the rear have bad views.

My girlfriend and I had flown a 10 hour flight into Dusseldorf. We got there at 8 in the morning. Now we did not expect to be able to check in, we dropped our bags and went to explore the city. The guy at the front desk was nice and attentive. At one pm, we came back to the hotel, the hotel has a 2pm check in. That's fine. However when we went to the desk, there was a new clerk there and the first thing he says when we say hello is, "2 pm check in, we don't have a room available until then!" He was abrupt and rude.

He did not even look at the computer, check out time at the hotel is 11, I am sure they had a room available because they had house keeping staff cleaning the foyer. If they did not have any rooms than all available house keeping staff should of been cleaning them.

I understand that hotels have check in times but if rooms are available than it is good customer service to check people in. We had flown ten hours without sleep and then walked around the city for 5 hours. We were stuffed.

At 1:30, the original clerk was there next to the new rude guy. I approached him and straight away he checked and sure enough there was rooms. He then checked us in.

Apart from this, the place was cheap, there is no wifi but there is a internet cafe down the road which is a short walk away. The location is great and cannot be faulted, especially if you are coming or going on the main train station. Breakfast is nice, they have a wide selection of meats, cheese and a couple different types of eggs. The rooms are nice and clean. There is an elevator in the hotel.

I would of given this place four stars if it wasn't for the above disappointing incident.

Poor rooms; no facilities; ran out of food at breakfast time and breakfats were very poor anyway.
Certainly not four star or three star. Had to pay 25 euros upgrade for a bigger room as offered room was terrible.
Would never stay there again though the reception staff were helpful and tried their best.
