Cheerful efficient check in and comfortable room with complimentary wi fi.
Typical gross fruhstuck breakfast buffet with good coffee and the works.

I stayed for one night in this hotel and despite the dour looking facade the inside was absolutely fine.
Check-in was pleasant with smiley faces and efficiency. My bedroom was lovely - spacious, comfortable, functional with an excellent shower and good WIFI power.
Room-service was good with efficient and courteous staff. The food was fine.
Breakfast was very good with a vast selection to choose from.
This is a very good 4 star hotel, well placed and with very courteous staff.
I would return if I am back that way and I would recommend this hotel.

Dear Paranoa,
Thank you very much for the positiv review. I am happy that you enjoyed the services offered inside the hotel. The outside will not be that easy to change I am afraid.

The hotel looks (and is in fact) quite old from the outside, but you won't notice that once you're inside. Sleek and modern interior all around.

We stayed in one of the spacious and clean well appointed business class rooms which has a work desk, Nespresso coffee machine with plenty of cups (replenished every day), sitting area, etc. Beds were a little too firm to our taste. The room faced the front of the hotel which was mostly quiet, inspite of some loud drunk students passing by now and then. The room itself got quite hot very quickly and the airconditioning had trouble keeping it cool. Luckily the windows could be fully opened and it wasn't that warm outside. I can't imagine it being comfortable during a hot summer day though... One especially annoying part of the rooms is that the doors are very heavy and as a result slam shut really loudly. If you're a light sleeper, expect to wake up a couple of times especially in the morning when people are constanly entering and leaving their rooms.

The bathroom was large enough and had a wonderful rain shower, but unfortunately the shower door only covered about half of the showering area so the bathroom got quite wet everytime. Prepare to use up a couple of towels each day to 'mop' up all of the water on the bathroom floor...

Breakfast is what you expect at a hotel of this caliber, but at 25 euro still quite expensive. In room breakfast can be brought to you at no extra charge, but selections are very limited then. We had to get the form to order the in room breakfast from the reception each time, since it was never replaced by housekeeping.

The hotel bar looked quite dull and was more like an extension of the lobby/reception area.

Locationwise it's quite ok. The tram stops right in front of the hotel and the centre is just 4 stops away or a 20 minute walk alongside the Rhine river. Parking is expensive at 16 euro a day... You can try to find a free parking spot on the streets in the surrounding area, but during the day that's near to impossible since the hotel is located on a business park and all the employees of the businesses park there as well. Later in the afternoon or in the evening it's usually no problem finding a (free) space.

Tip: during the booking process we were offered to book the standby upgrade ''Minibar''. If awarded at checkin, you may use everything in the minibar for a standard amount of just € 12 a day which was quite a good deal. There were about 12 beverages (including 2 beers), potato chips, peanuts, wine and chocolate which was replenished fully every day. Not a bad deal considering they usually charge 3,60 for a bottle of Coca Cola and there's really nothing in the immediate area to buy other (cheaper) drinks :)

The courteousness of the staff varied from extremely friendly to somewhat sturdy, All in all a pleasant stay but with some small glitches (shower, heavy doors) they'll hopefully attend to in the future after which I'll gladly award 5 stars :)

This was a clean, friendly and quietly effecient hotel. The rooms were first-class as was the food. In summer you can eat and drink outside. Very impressed. The hotel is also a short walk from the Rhine and the riverside bars. There are always taxis outside to getting in and out of Dusseldorf is easy.

I stayed here for 1 night in September. I usually stay in the Radisson Blu Media Harbour in Dusseldorf so this was a first visit to the Radisson Blu Scandinavia.

Location: Out of walking distance to the Altstadt, located between the city centre and Airport which can be useful. It’s pretty close to the Hilton.
First impression: Has the Radisson feel with an open plan bar area, check-in typically efficient
Room: Again, very functional with good working space. Comfortable bed and pillows for a good night’s sleep. I had a room at the back and it was quiet enough to sleep with window open (weather cool enough that aircon not required). Good walk-in shower, well-appointed bathroom but just big enough;
Food: Not much around where this is (aside from Vapiano) so was lazy and had a sandwich in bar. Good service, hotel prices. Comprehensive buffet for breakfast, hotel was busy and just about got a table. Quality and choice pretty good;
Gym is small, few cardio machines but there is a nice pool area. Not really big enough for doing any laps but good to kick start the day;

Overall a good business hotel, a little way out from the Altstadt. I’d stay again but still prefer the Radisson Blu in the Media harbour due to location, better bathroom and a slightly warmer feel.

Room Tip: Room at the back on 5th floor was really quiet
