“Excellent business hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012 via mobile

I stayed in this hotel on a business trip and was positively surprised as the meeting room, facilities, service and food were excellent.my bedroom on the 3rd floor was very spacious and well designed, nice flat screen, separate seating area and huge window front. Lovely milton brown toliettries in the bathroom. We went to the Japanese restaurant in house and it was absolutely delicious and the show cooking was a great entertainment.i would stay in a nikko hotel again if I had the opportunity.

We stayed again in a spacious room at the Nikko in Dusseldorf. Since it is in the Japanese area of town, this is for us the best location. But the hotel is also very comfortable, has everything (even a rooftop pool) and a warm atmosphere. The service is Japanese, so unequalled, and our children get their Japanese haircut in the Japanese hair salon of the hotel. We will continue to stay here, but we did notice a little wear and tear in our room. We trust the hotelmanagement will take care of the maintenance of this beautiful property accordingly.

Room Tip: get a larger room when traveling with the family, it's worth it.

I thought that charging for internet was a thing of the past. Not only does this hotel charge, they charge for each device connected. The hotel has a gym and spa, however it is an additional Euro15/person/day to use it and it doesn't open until 7am. The rooms are small, but clean. The room window could be opened, which was good as the aircon was not cooling the room. Breakfst was an additional Euro24. I think there must be better options in Dusseldorf than this hotel. On the plus side, it is 500 metres walk from Dusseldorf train station.500 metres to shopping in the area. It is located in the Japanese quarter of Dusseldrof, so most of the restuarants nearby are Japanese.

I should probably say at the outset that I am not a big fan of Dusseldorf as a city but have to go occasionally for work and picked this hotel because it was on our work recommended list, it was near the office I was visiting and my usual first choice (the Melia) was full. It is central and convenient but didn't compare well to the Melia and felt if anything a little tacky. I know they cater to the Japanese market but it was not up to the standard of hotels I stayed at in Japan either and it kind of felt that it wasn't sure what kind of hotel it wanted to be. Won't be in a hurry to stay here again I'm afraid.

Arrived late due to a delayed flight, room was nice size, but set for 2 people not three. Phone by bedside table did not work so I went to lobby to complain. I had requested a room with two double beds, no explanation was made, but they said they would bring a cot in the room, which they did. On taking a shower we discovered the drain was blocked so consequently the water ran out of the shower stall and onto the floor. Reception sent housekeeping with 5/6 towels for the floor, believe me they were soaked after 3 people took showers. Safe in room was locked upon arrival and front desk had to send someone up to re-open it. Just not what we expected for a 4 star hotel!

This was not my first stay at this hotel, but was the largest one, almost 3 weeks last May for a business trip. The location is excellent, walking distance from the city centre. Superior rooms are spacious, clean and with an espresso machine, which was a plus. I ordered room service many times and the service and quality of the food were really good. Staff very friendly and polite.
Wi-fi is free for superior rooms but very expensive for standard rooms which, in my view, is a downsize. It should be included for every room category.
Although this hotel needs a refurnishing – which I think they are doing in phases – I would recommend it both for leisure and business.

Room Tip: Superior rooms worth the price difference

I stayed at the Nikko Dusseldorf at 3 July for a business trip. The hotel is ideally located near central station and the city center with a parking garage next to the hotel.
The hotel and surroundings has a Japanese atmosphere with a European touch.
Very nice Front Office Staff!
