The old part of the town is very nice, there is always something going on and the nightlife is amazing! When the German football league Bundesliga is on, there is always people watching the games with a beer or two.

This is a fabulous location to spend a few hours. Whether it is some stunning architecture, a bite to eat (morning, day or late night!!), a peaceful walk along the bank of the River Rhine, or even a few local beers if that is your desire, then this is the place to go. The cafe/ bars on the river bank are stunning during those sunny afternoons to relax and enjoy a beer and watch the many many barges pass up and down the Rhine. Over the 5 weeks prior to Christmas this area is a winter wonderland with the Weinachtsmarkt or Christmas Markets in full swing. In short, Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn there is something worth seeing here.

Great place to spend an entire afternoon. Visited this area during the winter season but it was still very charming and buzzing with quite a few tourists. As mentioned in other reviews, this is indeed the worlds longest bar.! Loads of places to eat and drink around this area. Definitely must try the Alt beers brewed in this region, well worth it.

Bars were nice. Meeting place for the clan which was pretty scary on one night. Staff friendly but menus not in English, found this difficult.

Lots of bars and German tradition here so keep going and have one drink (0.2 l glasses @ 2 euros) in as many as you are comfortable with. Look for the Brewery Bars as they are proper Beer Kellers.
